Women Are More Shallow Than Men ~ Official
The results of a new scientific study have forced the highly respected scientist in charge to admit the results do suggest
That Women are More Shallow than Men !
A part of the test was to show women pictures of men stood next to a car. One car was an old Ford whilst the other was a Bentley, they then tested reactions and asked questions.
The women all said they found the man stood next to the Bentley more attractive and would prefer him as a partner, even when the same guy was stood next to the old banger.
The head of this research stated that nothing has really changed and women still seek safety and security above all else.
Interestingly, they conducted the tests separately again with a group of very successful professional women and the results were exactly the same.
The Professor did concede when questioned that this did appear to make women look more shallow than men !
But hold on a minute . . . why ?
Well, they did the same test on men and found that it made no difference what-so-ever which type of car the women stood next to !
That may be, but in fairness, something I’m noted for
, it seems the men simply picked the slimmest and most attractive girls every time caring not a jot for perceived financial status or career success.
Simply a shallowness based on visual appearance rather than a shallowness concerning money or power surely ?
Either way I feel it’s another scientific example that proves my ‘Caveman Theory’ - that being that although much has changed we are still intrinsically the same today in instinct and hard-wired mannerisms etc as we were when we were cavemen - nothing has changed !
I don’t think all these women are, to use a popular term, gold diggers it’s simply in human nature to subconsciously be attracted to certain things.
Men are just the same but just have other criteria.
I know it’s not popular in ‘The Modern World’ but that does not stop it being true
Must dash - I’m off to see if I can afford to buy a Bentley somehow ![]()
All the best

I think the research they did was very basic.
All this survey shows that the woman, is thinking of her future the man is thinking about the next few weeks.
Like your picture shows, most men will look straight at the ladies ample breasts then the car, whilst a woman would look firstly at the car then glance over the woman.
How does this make the woman more shallow? Surely its just the difference in sexes.

it is basic but then so is the point they are making.
The shallow point was forced out of them by the press, the inference clearly being that women found material goods/wealth more attractive than the person.
The above is not exactly news to me but I couldn’t understand why the said that women were more shallow when the men simply went for the most attractive girl - they couldn’t careless about how much money she earnt.
It says to me both sexes are ultimately shallow, whether we want to admit it or not, just over different things

Rod,
It would be so much more straight forward if everyone was shallow wouldn’t it…. trouble is every now and then a deep person pops up and throws the whole system off balance
The deep ones are obviously further up the evolutionary ladder but sadly they too have hidden primeval urges that like to assert themselves without fair warning, causing untold misery to the individual who believed themselves above all that.
By now, after several years, we all know which side of the line you stand but are you selling yourself off too cheap? Should a *glamorous Bentley owning, deep thinking woman ask for your number we would be delighted for you….for the time being though we would suggest one out of three ain’t bad in your current situation

* Glamorous
Bentley owning
Deep thinking
Woman……. so it could be one out of four ain’t bad

I think the people that show depth, and there are plenty of them I believe, do so after shallowness !
There needs to be some kind of favourable initial opinion of somebody because meeting and conversation etc can ensue. That will always lead to possible shallowness as those initial impressions will be created by (things for both men and women) looks, height, figure, hair or lack of, clothes, cars - watches - external signs of affluence etc.
we all know which side of the line you stand
I’m not as far across that line as people would think, remember most of this site is tongue-in-cheek, I would ask no more of a woman than I would give.
That doesn’t seem like too much to ask
Cheers

Rod,
‘people that show depth, and there are plenty of them I believe, do so after shallowness’ …. most we’ll grant you, but then there’s always one who likes to be different, they like quirkiness and purposefully aim for the unexpected, something which appeals to them from a different perspective… shame there’s not more of them in our opinion. A woman we know once said quite calmly (and forgive us if we are repeating ourselves) that she believes a man will look at a woman in such a way as to create a sliding scale of attractiveness and willingness to sleep with them…. presumably where the lines cross is the mark she’s given. There again, many years ago a man passed comment that one of his favourite hobbies was to walk through the cosmetics department of a large shop, awarding points to each female sales assistant …… although plainly honest, a hobby best kept to himself when chatting up women we thought
‘ I’m not as far across that line as people would think’ … it’s good to know that your Transglobal boots are anchoring you in deeper waters
Over all we agree with you, our natural instincts are inbuilt and we cannot change that.

p.s. from a women’s perspective you should have included charm before looks and height etc… and watches almost never come into it although when pointed out, the onlooker should admire a fine time piece casually flashed from the cuff of a Sea Island cotton shirt

Yet another piece of useless research then, all they’ve shown is what we already knew!
Can’t help but agree with Rod’s comment that those that show depth do so after intial shallowness - I work in an office full of ladies (although whether ladies is the right word is sometimes debatable!), and when a new man started in the office next door we all displayed our instinctive shallowness (the tongues hanging out generally gave it away!) as he’s really quite gorgeous to look at! You could tell who among us were the ones with depth after he opened his mouth and we very quickly discovered his arrogance, and attituded to work, women, and life in general stinks. Those of us who have some depth are the ones whose tongues are no longer hanging out when he walks in the door! Although it has to be said, some of my colleagues clearly have no dpeth, they still gawp at him as a pastime!

Juli
I thought it was meant to be a secret the women ogled men
I think the anecdote sums it up perfectly Juli. Initial attraction which by definition has to have some shallowness about it then the rest comes later - or not depending on the person.
I think men and women are more alike in these areas than we think, or indeed are lead to believe by some.

It’s certainly no secret around here that women ogle men. We’re all for equality up here in the North you know, so seeing that men ogle women, and will never stop doing this, of course we feel obliged return the favour!

This study was quite silly because it takes out of account that women who have better diets and can pay more for clothes, hair and makeup actually are better off financially, and are perceived as more attractive by men.
I recall the time that I paid 350 dollars for a pair of high-heeled leather boots and suddenly had smiling security guards greeting me, clerks quite interested in me, etc. Not quite the same reaction in torn old jeans and a t-shirt.
Answer: men are just as shallow, but women invest more in their appearance financially and men pick up on how much they’re worth financially through the cost of their appearance. Men do have a general sense of this if they watch television, as women on television generally have a great deal of money pointed in the looks direction.
What most PEOPLE are interested in is money.

Erin,
thanks for a great comment and welcome to the site - hope you’ll return.
There’s no doubt we all judge each other but I believe men judge women on different criteria and vice versa.
Men are certainly more ‘visual’ and in that sense very shallow - a beautiful woman renders most men useless.
I remember an article written by a very erudite English Professor who met Angelina Jolie - he said he was barely able to even speak to hear - just babbled - he’d never seen such beauty and it rendered him quite literally speechless.
There’s no doubt that money is the really big one and I’ve just spent an age looking for a really interesting article I did on how men and women see money in each other differently - I’ll keep looking as it was interesting
All the best Erin
