Sounds like you’ve got your act together generally speaking and we like the statement about simple things in life are often best… like the man … and there you could have stopped, none of us would have disagreed with that

Personally, however, I’d rather just do what makes me happy and try not to hurt anyone else on the way. The simple things in life are often best…like the man with the new leather jacket, providing he’s not daft enough to have got himself a motor bike in middle age to go with it… (Oh dear, I feel another subject coming on!!)

I think the point you make about women leaving their homes and children is more evidence that in today’s world everything seems transient to me,people seem to put themselves before their responsibilities.
Both men and women seem less prepared to stick with something, appreciate what they have perhaps as opposed to dwelling on what they don’t have.

The celebrity culture, lifestyle property programmes etc and the ease of credit and lending all adds to a feeling that you can have everything and perhaps the idea that most other people do indeed have everything - in reality few can and those that seek such illusionary things will ultimately be disappointed and miserable.

Women being subliminally drawn to men who have children could be something to do with feeling safe… as most women want/have children, they perhaps want someone who has experienced being a parent and is therefore part of the same tribe ? It must be a double edged sword since ex partners and children equal baggage that won’t simply disappear. According to a recent documentary there are increasingly more women who are leaving their homes and children…. we found it a moving account of changes in society which will challenge future generations views on the ‘mother’ role.

It’s a tricky choice for the woman… faced with two men, equally attractive, one is a father who has experienced the rollercoaster emotions attached to parenthood and all that role demands…. and one has a new leather jacket

Let us hope though that in the end, as one of your previous posts stated, love will win the day regardless.

As for the comment that women are indeed the master race, I would definitely have to agree. Men are indeed born of women; in fact most men spend half their adult life trying to ‘get back to where they came from’ anyway, in a manner of speaking….(hope that’s not too crude for a site which is already banned by public libraries!).
