Why Do I Blog

Regular readers will be aware what blog tagging is - and what it lead to last time !
For those who are not, somebody asks 5 people who have a website a question, those 5 answer it and ask another 5 etc etc so it goes viral.
It’s usually inane and I’ve ignored them all bar one. This one is just an interesting question and one I am asked anyway so………..

Here are the five reasons why this site was started and continues:

1: I bought the domain name rodcollins.com and then wondered what I should do with it

2: I have lots of sites but wanted to experiment with the potential of blogging

3: I continue because what started as a test for SEO and SEM has turned into something I personally enjoy doing

4: I also continue because of the following and regular visitors, most of whom come every day. I genuinely feel an obligation not to let them down given the support they give to the site.

5: I also continue because of the success the site enjoys in technical boring areas

So, there we are, just quick top of the head stuff as to why this site is here and continues to remain active.

Here are also a few other things to bear in mind:

Most of the site content is meant to be entertaining, or dare I say amusing.

If you see something and think why is this here or it looks strange - there is a reason.

Rod Damon aka The Coxeman does not actually exist in real life !

The Great Rodini cannot actually be hired.

I never make spelling mistakes, only typos ;)

I am not a sexist misogynist pig ! I like hot chicks but prefer the traffic they bring :)

Much of the content/theme of this site is not driven by my personal choice

I think much of this site seems to be missed by some, certainly those who try to hire me as a magician or email to ask why I let someone like Rod Damon write his chauvinistic articles for the site (yes, I really do get these emails).

Judging by the return visitors and the ever increasing number of overall visitors I guess I must be getting something right ….well ish.

If not let, me know - or if so let me know what you’d like more of
Most of this site is driven by it’s visitors - Yes ! This Means YOU !

Happy Easter - if that’s your bag
Rod

    Hello Rod ,
A very interesting post , the last few weeks have been very interesting on this blog, what with hair dye, the fact that you are not James Bond and now we have to live with the fact that The Coxeman does not exist. Which all leads me into the main point, most of us who participate in this site are looking for a few minutes with a cup of tea and a little light humour, for which most of us are grateful. long may it continue.
    Thanks.
    ARB.

ps I never make spelling mistakes, only typos - “Yeah Right ” I will remember that one, I may be able to use it myself !…

    ARB,
As well as can be expected, thanks! Gave up the Teachers long ago-gave me a headache, left a sour taste in my mouth and never got me anywhere. Could the name be a coincidence?
    take it easy,
    LB

Keep it Up and Keep it Real !

pleased to hear it’s doing roughly what it’s intended to do your end, it will continue as long as I do - so take that for what it’s worth :)

look like I’ll have to bow to readership pressure and keep up the hot chick quota. In anticipation of this I even created a new Hot Chick Category the other day.
Strangely, it’s already getting more traffic than the bookselling category :? :

    Mr Damon
alright then you are real, I just wanted to help with your undercover (espionage that is not duvet) work and preserve your incognito, or at least try to

    Sir Rod,

Because of your undoubted aristocratic bearing I am wondering from which root of the Collins clan you spring. Realising that you have indeed Southern roots, I wonder if it is the Worcester, Hertfordshire, Hampshire, Surrey, Kentish or Cornish lot. Pray do enquire of your Herald-at-Arms and tell the world…

    Regards,
    Neville

    Neville,
I was once in an old coaching inn at Hay on Wye, the bar was crowded and a man gradually made his way through the crowd, came up to me and said “is your name Collins”
He reckons he can spot them (so can psychiatrists I suspect) if they’re from the right clan that is - warrior class he said.

Irish originally says he, ancient warriors and the only people in the UK undefeated by their country men, Scots, Welsh, English, Romans and Vikings etc etc. Nobody under 6 foot tall !
Same line as Michael Collins the IRA man as well.

    Cheers
    Warrior Rod
