Why Do Celebrities Cheat on their Wives
Why do well known public figures have affairs and be unfaithful to their partners ?
I’m sat here shaking my head about the footballist Ashley Cole
This story, which appears to have legs as we journalist like to say
, raised two questions in my mind.
I’m the first to admit I know nothing of football but I know a little about Girls Aloud ![]()
The first, and admittedly shallow question was
What’s wrong with this ? It looks to me as though you’ve cracked it mate !

Cheryl Cole nee Tweedy
Wishing he’d stayed Tweedy I suspect
Maybe it’s something about the mentality of footballists but looking above you’d think he’d know when he’s onto a good thing !
The second point is how do famous people think they’ll get away with these things.
Time and time again they are caught with their pants down. Picking up would-be models in nightclubs strikes me as insane - is kiss and tell completely unknown
The girls appear to be coming out of the woodwork now this story has broken. Initially his wife said she’d stand by him with the first one claiming nothing actually happened - not sure what’s happening now.
But that’s by-the-by and their business.
What I cannot understand is if people want to carry on like this then why get married ?
And if they are stupid enough to do such things when they have a high public profile then perhaps they deserve to get caught and hung out to dry !

Rod,
Beats me too. That said, have you ever heard him speak? Oh dear, not the brightest by a long shot. Should she get in contact then I would be happy to offer her some counselling, a strong shoulder etc LB style

is there such a thing as a bright footballist or is that an oxymoron ?
I’m sure she’ll garner great solace from your offers of comfort but you’re a day late and a dollar short - I already offered

Rod,
Doh! There was once an intelligent footballer called Graham Le Saux, another Chelsea player as it happens. He was educated and well versed in literature, art and good food. Because of this everyone thought he was gay and the crowds used to chant this slur at him every saturday. I’ve seen his wife, he’s not gay.

Rod, Being a football fan and sick of reading about player’s bad behaviour, whilst not excusing them in any sense, I think a lot of their “playing away” comes about from spending so much of their lives - playing away! When you consider that an international footballer these days can be involved in 60+ games in a season, half of them away games far from home, its not surprising some are tempted when their fame and money make them a target for *******s. The same could be said for film and pop stars, on location or on tour, in fact when you think about it ,when a couple have two such careers they can’t spend much time together! You’re probably right to suggest they shouldn’t get married at all but that’s human nature and logic doesn’t apply.

I wouldn’t make any moral judgement on the footballers, indeed I would seriously question whether such a story should be printed.
It’s the mentality I cannot understand, risking so much and in a way which must surely lead to you being caught at some point.
I think the point about being away from home is a point but not one I would countenance.
Being tempted by a hot chick is perfectly natural and if you’re single and in such a position then ‘filll your boots’ make the most of it.
If you’re married though it’s not right and there’s no excuse in my book
Again I’m not moralizing or being prudish but if you promise to do something then you should do it - in marraige that means being faithful.
