Re visitors bearing gifts - on a point of etiquette, does one open the wine they bring first (not always wise to read the label) or serve one of your own?
Ps. Advanced warning - Lynnie is concocting a potion for the Tues Group that involved scrumping something form my garden! Apparently she is testing it on you lot first!

Mary,
I would recommend asking people not to bring wine. I am not a fan of this modern phenomenon.
I have even heard mention of something called a ‘bring a bottle party’ !
My recommendation would be if you want to throw a party supply everything and ask your guest to bring only themselves.
If this poses any form of problem you could always throw a bash akin to my Goldeneye Staff Annual Christmas Party
I look forward the sampling Lynnie’s bountiful offerings
