When is the First Day of Spring
When is the First Day of Spring ?
Why it’s today ! And it marks a time of change and development and rebirth
Yes folks we bid farewell, or good riddance, to Winter and celebrate the advent of Spring (with a weekend of snow
)
In nature it’s the time of rebirth and of all things new. For me it feels like the actual start of a new year, or a least it would if I could switch the heating off.
Seems like a good time to consider preliminary plans for the year to come.
Operation River Cottage II
This is very high on the agenda and I’m hoping that it will prove an even greater success this year. I have made a cautious start already but things will be full steam ahead shortly.
Health and Fitness
I’m approaching the final furlong of my stated objectives, I can see the finish line and am making extra efforts in order to reach it before the summer.
I am now considering whether I should then commit myself to a stage further or just relax a bit and hold steady. I fancy pushing on but if I decide to go for it I’ll have to see it through - hence the hesitation.
Business
Try and make some money - Try being the operative word !
Guitar Playing
Good results showing and I intend to keep it up, thoroughly satisfying and enjoyable as well as challenging.
That seems like a packed enough agenda for the next few months.
If you’ve any suggestions or ideas of what I should do or what you are looking to do then leave a comment and share it with us
Happy Spring

Rod,
We read your summer objectives with interest and note there’s no sign of anything under the heading of socializing. Naturally we’ll take no notice of that and sweep you along with what ever’s going on in the Coven. Speaking of which we are to embark on a new social path… yes you may have heard that we’ve been ‘found’ by relatives in Canada. After much searching our cousins have located the Coven and shortly, during a visit to these shores are intending to pop in. Through the miracle of email (crystal balls being on the foggy side of accurate) we have already struck up a friendship… isn’t life full of surprises.
As to a timetable of summer events, the Witches don’t like to plan… the shifting sands of Coven life make that very difficult but we do have some projects that require completion. Tis Good Friday we intend to celebrate with a bit of an Easter knees up… are we not haunted by the demon chocolate at this time of year, alas there is no escape

pleased to hear you have been tracked down by relatives, hopefully a nice surprise, though Canada sounds quite distant - is it outside Lincolnshire
I should like to find long-lost relatives, preferably related to nefarious ancestors or very rich !
You’re wise not to plan anything, nothing good every comes of plans, best thing to do is wake up, hopefully, and see what happens on any given day.
My new grand plan is to have no grand plans or ideas - also to stop pontificating online !
Happy Easter

Rod,
We fully expect a group of Eskimo kin complete with huskies and sleds to appear at any moment and have arranged the weather accordingly
The nefarious mob will be almost certainly located in Australia whereas these good people were probably out on a boating lake and simply lost their way! Witches are no good on water, we try to keep away from the stuff for this very reason. Our only hope now is that they own the maple syrup corporation…

WoE, I presume your aversion to water is the result of reading books that describe the ducking-stool and its use, I’m sure bonfires likewise give you nightmares?
Happy Easter all!

When is the First Day of Spring ?
Is it when you are woken up at 5.30 in the morning by birds singing or when the lawn needs cutting ?.

Dino,
You’ve hit the nail on the head…. we are constantly on the controversy ducking stool of life
Fire however, is our friend… we have managed to tame it with the use of a magical, individually wrapped fire lighter, a great invention. Kindly don’t mention this to Ray Mears… took him weeks to get over our indoor plumbing
