By this I mean the fact that you can actually picture them in the story or situation they are writing about, whether it be real, fiction or fantasy. With Spike however far fetched some of it seemed you never really knew. But I like to think most of his writing is himself. "He Did It" - "He Lived It" or he would have done it given the opportunity, a real gift. Humour - I think the best written humour comes from an author such as Spike.
