That is to say what people are searching for - what has dropped in popularity and what has risen.
Given their massive dominance in this market it really does provide a social snapshot of out times.

Good news for the religious crown as God was number one and who is Satan just made it in a #10.
Romance clearly is alive and well with kissing but interestingly #9 was how to levitate !
The most popular TV show was Heroes and the movie was Tranformers whilst the most searched for song lyrics were Umbrella by Rihanna
The fastest rising new term was iPhone whilst the fastest falling was World Cup
Actual recipe for a dish was Ratatouille whilst fitness regime was taken by Pilates.
The results have been cleaned up by Google so as to remove any adult terms. It is believed though that as internet usage has spread the adult themed searches are reducing as a percentage.

The Witches search for all kinds of things from hot gossip* to particle science. We found a revolutionary heat storage unit that so far has been a mixed blessing but our hopes are high. Yesterday we found the telephone number of the parcel depot that has repeatedly failed to deliver a package…. how did we ever cope without google?
