What Can I Blog about ~ Popular Blog Subjects
With the calendar having ticked over another year I thought I’d review the year in terms of this site.
Also taking a look at the most popular things about the site and indeed the least popular
Firstly, traffic has risen considerably this year, I’m obviously pleased about that - there’d be no point in writing all this unless anybody reads it !
Every month seems to get harder though, balancing what people want to see along with what brings in new visitors and also, from time to time, what I may like to write about.
The diversity of the site has been as much hindrance as help. Whilst giving me more scope topic wise for articles it has also created a very varied regular audience …
Anyway, I try, and will aim to do much better in 2009, watch this space !
Now, onto a few items of interest:
The site had a staggering 18.5 million hits in 2008
42% of my traffic comes direct from favourites or bookmarks (very humbling)
The average visitor looks at 4 pages every time they visit
Daniel Craig’s Workout once again was the most visited page though Jason Statham’s workout actually came very close, shows how much more popular he has become this year.
Of the pages about a single girl, as opposed to grid girls etc, This one with Pammy was the most popular, followed closely by Ashley Lawrence, the big surprise being Tiffany she was very close in 3rd place despite having has less than a month to get there, the others having a year. She would have wiped the floor with them had I written about her earlier - I told you she was hot
The girls went for the men with the best chests and the sexiest footballers - shallow lot you women
The least popular pages tend to be the what’s hot and not weekly review type posts.
These are read widely in the first day or so of posting but don’t generate much traffic subsequently, as one would expect.
I hope to try and improve the site in 2009, I will be aiming to have a new post every day, note use of ‘aiming’ , and will be looking for some different content as well as keeping the stuff thta people seem to like.
Thanks to everybody who visits the site and my best wishes to you where ever you are in the world
Happy New Year

Rod,
Newspaper reports are saying that UK housewives spend more time on the net then women from any other European country. I reckon they’re all viewing your Daniel and Jason posts!
It is interesting how people surf the web and what they look for as a means of escape from their everyday lives. I’m off to write something about Pamela Anderson and George Clooney-I want your viewing stats
Well played.

Rod,
Ok, I confess. It wasn’t me. Somebody does want to see pictures of you. That is annoying.

LB,
We need to find that person at once…. he or she is obviously confused and may require gentle counselling and suitable medication
If it is a UK housewife then there really is no hope…. she’s done the shopping channels and pickled everything in sight, she’s through with Daniel and understandably wants something more realistic, leaner and modest….. (well modest might not necessarily be high on her list, we just threw that in)
You source the straight jacket and we’ll make the potion

All you seem to mention is that the “hot chicks” was popular and the JS or DC workout. But your most popular blog topic must surely have been “What waist/jean size am i really”. There are 98 comments on that one topic alone and still today it gets comments.
I’m not a mathematician but this would seem to be the most popular blog surely?

I see your point and it’s valid in many ways. It does depend on how you judge popular though.
There is no exact correlation between the number of people who look at a page and the number of comments. The Jason Statham workout for example is beating DC this month and one of the most popular posts I’ve done but it has not had a comment in over a year!
Also some posts lend themselves to comment where as others don’t.
What I will say is that the Vanity Sizing, which is very popular, has been a great success as it’s a ‘proper post’ well researched and good content (though I say so myself)
I would like to do more things of that ‘quality’ but thinking of things to write about is tricky.
All the best
