What Are the Strongest Brand Names
Brand names are pretty much everything in marketing - often of greater relevance that the product itself
But what are the Top 10 Coolest Brand Names in the UK ?
The ultimate marketing nirvana is to get such a strong brand association with your name and the product that your trading name becomes a de facto handle for that product - think Hoover, and Immac before they incredulously changed the name to veet !!
In today’s more aspirational and image led market though it’s brand association and ‘cool’ which really cut the mustard. Marketing and advertising people put all their efforts into brand association
So, who’s done the best ?

4. Bang & Olufsen
5. Google
6. Sony PlayStation
7. Apple
8. Agent Provocateur
9. Nintendo
10. Virgin Atlantic
These are the latest results from an extensive consumer survey. The winners, Aston Martin, also won last year and is perhaps understandable - some of the others are less clear cut though.
Agent Provocateur and Virgin Atlantic seem odd choices, presumably there are other brand names which might have got in ahead of them ?
What struck me is there appears to be 2 types of entry in the extended list, those a lot of people actually have / use, i.e. iPod and those to which people aspire.
I’m not sure what my top brands would be, the above obviously changes things, do you go for the top brands you use or those to which you aspire to ?
I’ll have a think about some of my favourite brands etc and perhaps post a list - split into the 2 categories mentioned perhaps.

If latest trends are anything to go by then might I suggest Marco Pierre White?
If advance ticket sales are anything to go by then it has to be Led Zeppelin.
If my choice of clothing is anything to go by then it must be GASP
If my choice in liquid refreshment is anything to go by then it must be Stella
Not sure anything else matters!
