What Are People Looking For
As a follow on to the Are Books Dead page, I’ll give you some idea of what attracts visitors to the site.
As predicted, the books post was of little interest when compared to others. It did drag in a few hundred visitors yesterday via Netscape and Delicious so it was a success in blogging terms.
It is worth stating here that most blogs get between 0 and 10 unique visitors a day with most getting no comments at all.
I am very pleased, and also very surprised, how well this site is doing and that week on week it gets more popular!
I should like to thank all those that visit and especially those that take the time to participate - it is greatly appreciated
Anyhoo, back to the matter in hand.
Regular visitors coming back on bookmarks-favourites etc make up a lot of the traffic, followed by search engines (Google outstripping all the others) then Netscape, links from my various other sites, Delicious and various blog directoriesand some bits and pieces I’ll not reveal.
It is traditional, for many reasons in SEO or serious webmaster circles, not to give this kind of info away or indeed to discuss traffic numbers but I shall break rank and give you a stat.
In the last 24 days this site has had 52,252 unique visitors
Please note this does not include myself or those that return more than once each day, they only count as 1 visit.
For those more used to hit counters or that use standard tracking software:
This site has had 472,570 ‘hits’ this month !
Search engine traffic is the greatest indicator as to exactly what people are looking for so here is a list of the search terms people used this week which brought them here. Most popular first:
caterina murino
daniel craig workout
eva green
francine dee
football babes
jenna jameson
rod collins
vesper lynd
soccer babes
illuminated manuscript
forced to strip
jessica alba sin city
ibanez
daniel craig’s workout
david beckham
hot babes
cj miles
daniel craig watch
daniel craig work out
alexis amore
casino royale omega watch
carol smillie in a thong
steve vai guitar
007 omega watch
francine dee video
daniel craig omega watch
A lot of the terms remain a constant source of traffic month on month. This month shows the effect of Casino Royale. I had pre-planned for this with Omega Watch pages to ensure they were nicely embedded and optimized in search engines before the film came out. This proved to be quite rewarding.
It would be interesting to know what regular viewers who come directly in like to see or indeed could do without seeing?
All ideas and input greatly appreciated and my thanks to all those who continue to visit
Regards
Rod

You know what? I have just read through that mammoth write up and realised that most of it went, blur, de blur, de blab blab, blur.
Need I say more?!!
Glad you appreciate my input!!

Jordan
it certainly seems so, always has of course.
The most popular posts in October (see right hand sidebar) tells it’s own story.
In fairness, I too like those posts, they are light and breezy, amusing (hopefully) and provide a little light diversion in an otherwise mostly grim world.
Hopefully our regulars like them too
Enjoy the weekend
