Wallander TV Series Based on the Henning Mankell Kurt Wallander Books

We’re not generally in the business of recommending TV programmes let alone ones we have yet to see but…
I saw a fraction of a trailer and thought - can’t be surely - looking into it I found it to be true
A television show that I want to watch !

Wallander is the name of the programme and it’s based on a detective series written by Henning Mankell.
It caught my eye because I read two books in the series last week - highly recommended they are too.
Kenneth Branagh is to play the lead role of Kurt Wallander the Swedish police Inspector.
Those keen eyed mystery aficionados will no doubt have spotted what makes this a little different from the usual mystery series - they are set in Sweden.

Three feature length episodes have already been filmed with a further three planned pre supposing they are popular

Sidetracked - airs 30 November 2008
Firewall - airs 7 December 2008
One Step Behind - airs 14 December 2008

The books are great and looking at the cast, and the optimism of those involved, there is no reason why the TV adaptation cannot also be a success - so give it a go and let us know what you think.

Personally I am just glad that there will be finally something on TV worth watching, apart from Party Girls that is :) (more of that and the lovely Tiffany in a future post  )

I do sometimes wonder whether it is just me who thinks TV is pretty much dreadful !
Viewing figures suggest there are plenty of popular programmes so recommendations are always welcome.

Happy Viewing
Rod
