Vestiges of Spirituality at Grimsby Minster
I’ve just returned from St James’ church and another fabulous evening, the opening of Vestiges of Spirituality
I’ve got a couple of images to show you from it, I hope you share my opinion of it . . .
Vestiges of Spirituality is a multimedia installation / exhibition created by artists David Power, David Lancaster, Linda Ingham and Annabel McCourt.
I really did enjoy this
The setting was, of course, magnificent and gave so much towards to experience which combined into something quite superb.
Regular readers will be well aware of Linda Ingham and her work with Annabel McCourt accompanied by the superb music of David Power and David Lancaster was a joy to experience.
Below you’ll see what turned out to be a truly mesmerizing ‘video’ installation
The centre piece, quite literally, was as spectacular as you could expect to see, very dramatic yet beautifully sympathetic within the church.
I hope the image goes some way to show you how impressive it is . . .
I should note that the photographs are my own, I’m responsible for the way they look and the tones etc. I mention this as I always worry when photographing works of art that I don’t display them as the artist would wish.
So there’s the caveat, the best thing to do is to go and visit yourself.
It’s been another great evening, great for all the artists and all those who attended, and indeed will attend. It really does go to show how the arts are thriving not only here in Grimsby but also all over Lincolnshire.
Do try and get out and visit some of these exhibitions, it’s very rewarding and also something that truly deserves support
My thanks to all for another spectacular evening
