The Power of Blogs and the Internet
The vast majority of blogs are little more than a waste of time or just a personal interest to those who do them and the few people, often none, that look at them.
Some, however, are widely read, feature well in search engines and some are becoming very influential.
Recently on this site regulars will have seen a number of people featured in posts actually replying to them. There is a review of a local hotel on this site that gets a lot of search traffic and features on the first page of Google for it’s name - sadly for them it is not particularly favourable.
This shows the potential of the internet and blogs !
All of the above is, obviously, of little consequence. When you take it to another level though the effects can be dramatic.
There is a site called engadget which is very popular amongst lovers of tech gear and gadgets.
They recently ran an article based on an internal email from Apple they received talking about how the iPhone and Leopard OS were going to be severely delayed.
As it happens they were duped - so what you say - what’s the big deal - the internet is full of this sort of stuff.
Well, the result was that it wiped $4 billion off the value of Apple shares in less than half an hour !
That just shows you the power of some sites and the internet

Rod,
Speaking of technical stuff ….. the Coven has been cut off from our DSL connection and subsequently are coming to you live today via the broomstick dial up, steam driven method, so we’re not happy. Both BT and our ISP provider have been contacted but it’s likely to be days before our connection is restored. Is it just us or do other people have these problems?
The wearing of a BT uniform in this area will render it’s owner fair game as we intend to ambush and interrogate these individuals until normal service is resumed.
WoE
p.s. if this continues we might have to switch to Morse for communication …

WoE
sorry to hear of your technical problems. We share the same ISP and I have only once had a problem. BT said everthing their end was perfect and it was an ISP issue.
Eventually it turned out to be a fault at BT !
Hope it’s sorted soon and thanks for making the effort to comment.
