The Great Rodini Retires
It is with great sadness that I have to inform you that The Greatest Magician in Grimsby is to retire from the stage with immediate effect !
I know the legion of fans out there will be beside themselves with grief, and perhaps a little angry.
Like so many great artists and performers The Great Rodini had a brief but illustrious career.
In no time at all Google rated him as the Number One Magician in Grimsby

# one and two baby !
It was whilst enjoying success at these giddy heights that the reality and pressure of the situation hit home for the shooting star of Lincolnshire magic.
It has to be said; that I (narrative switch, I Know) had hoped this would lead to more success with the ladies!
Sadly, the results from early testing appear less than exciting.
The black cape and top hat failed to materialise in a timely fashion and this could have been instrumental in the lack of swooning from the female contingent.
It was also suggested that the waxed moustache may make me an object of derision!
I was looking to dazzle the girls with a little close up hand work and at the critical moment spring the big surprise, sadly it was not to be !
Not only does this leave a huge void in the world of magic and entertainment but it also leaves me once again careerless (made up word?).
I may go back to being a philosopher as the work is slight but I am plagued by the question of what, in today’s world, does a philosopher do ? other than possibly teach philosophy.
Anyway I digress magic fans.
The Great Rodini would like to extend his [steady !] appreciation to all those who helped launch this stellar career. Those who applied to be glamorous assistants and last but not least his legion of adoring fans
I bid you goodnight [curtain falls]

TGR (rtd),
The Witches are devastated to hear such news, as you can imagine. We rarely meet magical men in full regalia and now it seems we are to be denied that particular treat and Christmas round the corner …. how cruel!
I have to warn you that word has reached the WI and things have turned ugly. They are demanding either their money back or quite literally ‘the full monty’! I think you’ll have to lay low for a while and avoid the bingo halls, a bitter blow I realise …. or is it? Yes, what about bingo caller? You could meet lots of excitable women and arrange to meet the lucky winner after the show …clickerty click! WoE

WoE
many thanks for your kind words. I am getting messages from all corners of the globe. People everywhere are devastated that The Great Rodini will not be performing at a ‘venue near you’ !
I had not considered bigo calling for my next vocation - good suggestion, I’ll put it on the list, though perhaps not at the top.
That said, being the only entry thus far on the list it is #1
I need to expand the list, and quickly
