The Goldeneye Retirement Home
This is in response to a mention in the last thread. I had the idea some time ago that myself and Lincolnshire’s foremost book dealer could consider a plan for our declining years.
The basic idea is to sell all property and cash in all assets etc buy a nice big house on a 50/50 split then share the cost of living. That would then make the likes of a housekeeper, gardener etc financially very viable.
I then expanded to thinking what about a group of friends that all got on well.
5 people could throw say £200,000 each into the pot, buy a nice big £1 million house in the Lincolnshire Wolds. You could then easily split the costs of staff to look after you if you needed it or just to give you an easy life.
I think this idea has legs especially for those who find themselves on their own in old age.
There are obviously some pitfalls and potential issues but as a working hypothesis I don’t think it’s ridiculous.
Be interesting to know what others think ?

Rod, as you already know, the Witches are ‘in’. This is certainly a workable solution to the future housing issues. However some of us would like to share a room with George Clooney who should be ready for a retirement home at approximately the same time as we all will be. Problem is some of us might forget who he is and poke him in the eye with our vintage broomstick. As the only one who is likely to have all their marbles, we trust you to sort any little unforeseen matters to our ultimate satisfaction.
Just as a matter of interest and with regard to financial planning ……who would Jordan, LB, Shane and of course, yourself, like to share with?

Hi Rod and all of your friends out there,
It seems like I have returned from my last ever photo shoot in the nick of time. I, of course, will also be looking for somewhere to live now, but not being of retirement age, I was wondering, if all you aged folk would consider having a young single girl moving in with you to help with all the chores, gardening, washing, ironing and cleaning, being my specialities, among others, which I may divulge to some of you at a later date.
Love the new photo, very becoming, it could set the heart of any single chick alight.
love and best wishes TC xx

Well if George is going to be there, I think Brad, who also is of a similar age and one of George’s good pals should also be there (they could entertain themselves when they are not entertaining us!). Obviously Angelina will have to ‘sling her hook’ or you could cast a spell on her.
Rod
I think I may have to work off my £200,000 as I don’t have the funds and the future doesn’t bode well for getting any, would this be a problem?
TC
Maybe you age will be a problem, it is a retirement home after all, and I think the likes of SC, Rod and LB,s hearts wouldn’t take it. And if you even glanced at Brad or George, WoE and myself would have to eradicate you!

Women are so shallow
You can bring the likes of George and Brad in for the night, abuse them, then expel them in the morning. They could not, I am sorry to say, be permanent residents.
As to who I would have there well…… someone who knows how to make a nice cup of tea !
Cheers

welcome back, nice to see you back commenting. Trust the photo shoot went well and that you were modelling something akin to your name!
We shall of course be needing some domestic assistance, the pay would be slight but accomodation and food (cooked by OMITK) would all be free gratis.
I would also provide a suitable maid’s outfit, I’m generous like that!
On that subject I have just got a new myspace friend and a picture that was sent me is of her suitably attired to perform domestic duties!
Best

Jordan,
if you do manage to lure Brad into the home and Angelina starts to get in the way I can always try and keep her amused. I will by that time have a torso to rival Brad’s so I see no problem.
As to the funding, that was just a suggested figure. The cashing in of property would be the answer for most. I am sure the sale of a nice cottage will more than cover the cost of joining.
I would also like to think of it as a pool of friends and like minded people. Therefore benefits would be equally shared whilst the financial burdens need not be.
You’re being a little hard on Thonged Chick, fancy leaving her with the choice of me, LB and SC - I wouldn’t wish that on my worst enemy.
Cheers
Rod

Thonged Chick,
There are two domestic vaccancies in Branston, Lincoln at the moment-mine and SC’s. If you are concerned about wages then don’t bother with SC, he’s very tight-spends it all on bacon!

Shane, some of us believe that men in their 40’s are in their prime. Alas the retirement home Mr Collins had in mind for the future will see us all by then in the, shall we say, winter of our lives. So with that in mind get on and enjoy your youth!
Jordan, … we feel a certain sense of excitement for the future now that we have established George and Brad will be there. Rod, the party pooper, is maintaining that they will not be permitted to stay so we shall have to make sure there is a convenient fire escape close by. Mind you by then will G and B be up to such strenuous exercise ….. climbing ladders we mean!?
Rod, as you know, witches don’t age so we expect to take full advantage of the forthcoming retirement home for the eccentric and wishful thinkers/superstars. Here’s to George aging like a fine wine/cheese, if not we could be hugely disappointed, sparks will fly ….. WoE

This all depends on what you mean by prime?
Many aspects of me, for example, are better now than when I was 20.
However, some are not !

So its Game Over Then ! .
When does the retirement home open ?
Presume there will be a few 40+ women there as well .

Dear WoE ,
I think i must have missed the Prime bit as well !.
” Youth was ok though ” , I must have used up all of what i had then.

the home will open when enough people step up to the plate with the cash!
I’ll nip into town shortly and check my current accounts, I’d rather front my money up without drawing anything out of the building societies
As to the ladies it’s looks like some over 40 and some under, this plan is coming together quite nicely
I must have used up all of what i had then
I suspect you did. After all, they do say you only get a bucket full !
