The CD Single is Dead

It looks like the writing is on the wall for the CD music single !

Once the staple of the music business, the single has decreased massively in popularity.
Now to such a point that Asda (one of the UK’s largest supermarket chains - owned by Walmart) are going to stop stocking them !

They cite the popularity of downloads as the main reason.

How long will it be before albums become unviable ?

The movement to having all your music on a storage device is really gathering pace. I have apprehensions about some of the aspects, as previously discussed.
Especially the illegal download side of things which genuinely threatens the music industry.

All that said even your host is on the verge of surrendering !
As I write this I am listening to Touch Too Much by AC/DC …
which originated from Blubster  and I am looking at buying an ipod and docking stations to have music throughout the house.

Where will it all end ? Don’t ask me I’m just following the bandwagon this time !
