Terry Pratchett has Alzheimer’s Disease

Terry Pratchett has Announced he has Alzheimer’s Disease

One of the world’s bestselling authors has told his fans and publishers that he has an early and very rare form of the degenerative disease.
The author, who is only 59, has sold in excess of 50 million books worldwide. His Discworld novels have a following almost like no other set of books, a legion of fans for whom nothing else will do.
He is an author you either love or hate, those that like his work have few other avenues to go down as he is a writer with a unique style and perspective

The news will come as a terrible shock to his legion of fans but with characteristic stoicism Terry Pratchett has appealed to everyone not to be miserable and to see how things develop, hopefully it may not be as bad as it may initially sound.
He says he would have preferred to keep the news private for a little while but felt it only right to give his readers, publishers and those due to attend conferences and promotional events some notice.

We wish him well !

    Rod,

I’m reading Thud at the moment and was sad to hear this news. It’s unusual for any book to hold my attention but I took to the Discworld novels like a spell to the cauldron.
