Skip Breakfast to Lose Weight ? No Have Two !

Instead of the usual Winners & Losers I’ve decided to be more positive - the losers are always easier than the winners :)
This week I’ve simply decided to write the good things that came to me during my life this week - the things that struck me as usefel and positive - not sure how they’ll strike you though . . .

blah

My Top Tips

Abandon Television
I was never keen on it and generally only watched DVDs but now I don’t watch it at all - not even DVDs - I’ve watched it once in the last month or so and that was Sherlock a few weeks ago !
I’ve now come to the radical decision of relinquishing my TV Licence having not even plugged it in for at least a fortnight !
I’ll blog the whole thing for amusement as it’s bound to be a long-running fiasco

Dine By Candlelight
I’ve taken to dining by candlelight !
It may seem a strange thing for a bachelor to do every evening but it’s far more civilized that that new-fangled electrickery lighting !

Have Two Breakfasts
You hear of people leaving the house without have ‘broken their fast’ well your host doesn’t leave the house until . . .
He’s had two breakfasts and a whey protein shake in between them !
Sets you up, gets you moving.

Open Your Eyes
Whenever we look at an area we see everything there, the question is how much of it do we actually take in.
I’m finding tons of interesting things to look at and record that once I’d never have ’seen’ - just how much do we miss ?
Look ye also while life lasts !

Assert Your Will
There’s nothing to be gained from a passive stance, be assertive, stoke your self-confidence - it’s immediately picked up on by those you come into contact with.
Life’s very much easier when people are doing what you want rather than vice versa !
The biggest single issue I see in people nowadays is a lack of self-esteem and self-confidence, it needlessly plagues lives, even ruins them.

Listen to Noel Gallagher
When he plays and when he speaks - he’s a modern poet and philosopher. Some of his lyrics are pure poetry, he speaks from the hip and with a modern wisdom.
Here’s a couple of quotes from a recent interview:
On defending his ‘working class credentials’ after sending his children to private school
‘I don’t want them coming home speaking like Ali G’. ‘Anyone in my position, you owe it to your children to send them to a school where they don’t have to walk through a metal detector in the morning.
On the state of our country:
Last August I was on tour in Europe and people were asking me about the riots. All over the world, Syria and Egypt, people were rioting for freedom. And these kids in England are rioting for tracksuits. It’s embarrassing !

Cook
I like cooking !
Unlike the stereotypical bachelor I don’t eat takeaways or ready meals etc, no pizzas or the like.
Pretty much everything is cooked from scratch.
It’s quick, cheap, delicious and healthy - what’s the downside ?

Take Photographs
It pays to document things full stop. I wish I’d taken more photographs throughout my life.
Also, it’s a real pleasure if you ‘get into it’ - there’s so much to be had from really taking it seriously.

As always comment, opinions and observation very much welcomed
Regards,
Rod

    Veronica,
I don’t cook soups I’m afraid - I’m too greedy to be sated by soup :)
    Best,

    Rod,

    …relinquishing my TV Licence…” …..WELCOME TO THE CLUB!!! :) :) :)
Yes I did shout that. we are an exclusive breed indeed. If you do it, as I have, I think I mentioned before that, you actually get a licence to ‘not watch television’ !

    …had two breakfasts…:)

As Victor would say…”I don’t believe it!”; I too have two breakfasts! We must be on the same planet and brought up on the same fine Lincolnshire principles.

All of this on top of other coincidental experiences related in the past.

    Regards,
    Neville

    Neville,
all of these coincidences aren’t coincidences - they’re the result of a proper Lincolnshire upbringing :)
It doesn’t happen by chance ;)

Not only am I going to toss the licence I’m going for a rebate on what I’ve already paid !
    Best
