Signed Ian Fleming Ebay Fakes
Signed Ian Fleming James Bond first editions are extremely coveted by collectors and consequently somewhat expensive.
This can be off-putting for the would be 007 collector on a limited budget, but fear not help is at hand.
Why not buy a fake on ebay ?
I know someone who buys fake Gucci bags and shoes on ebay and she is very happy, she knows they are fake but at £25 who cares ?
So potentially a good idea based on the above principal, sadly not, the vendors of fake signatures tend to market them as genuine (the swines) and offer things like a COA (definition: certificate of authenticity or a word document you print off your computer at home, whichever you prefer) whereas the Gucci seller keeps tongue firmly in cheek and we all know they are replicas.
Here is a ripe example, almost hysterical in fact, though in fairness we have to say that Fleming may have signed it during that particularly unpleasant period in his life when he broke both his arms and had to write with his feet!
Whilst this is amusing to some of us it may not be to the person who pays the 4 figure asking price !
So there you are, if you have fallen out with your money and want to buy a signed first by the great man himself we would encourage you to do so.
If you have to do it on ebay make sure it is with a professional dealer who has a good reputation in the real world (not just a few thousand ebay feedbacks)
