Should I Put Up Xmas Decorations
I am currently in a state of indecision - should I bother putting up the christmas tree and some decorations?
Over the last few years it is something I have done only on occasion, I then went to, year on year off.
This year is due on but I am undecided whether to bother or not.
I have already prepared a small xmas image for the flashfader on this site to mark the festivities but need I do more?
People who know me personally will be aware of the one thing I do on christmas day and that is …
Revise my last will and testament !
As I have no wife or children I can leave things where I will, this means quite a few people feature in the Goldeneye will.
I review their performance over the previous year then rate them accordingly.
If they have done well in my eyes they may get an increase, likewise if they disappoint me on reflection, a cut - or even out completely.
A couple of people are in the drop zone this year…. so be warned do something impressive quickly or face relegation!
So, should I revise my will by the xmas tree or merely in a bare house?
Is your xmas as exciting as mine? - what do you do?

PS. The non-capitalized c in christmas is deliberate on my part.
PPS. It was mentioned to me last night that this symbol may be misunderstood by some.
\m/
The person thought it was a sexual reference, on reflection I can see why.
However lest anyone else think the same, it is a music based symbol used in SMS or texts to represent ‘rock on’ etc
Hope nobody else misunderstood this ?

Yes put up the Christmas tree, decorations and lights.
Such a festive yearly event as re-writing ones will should be a celebration in its self, and you must learn to appreciate the fact that.
” You have once again got the opportunity to re-draught such a document “.

A very salient and well made point - I am swaying in the direction of going up into the attic and getting the tree and decorations out !

As you are so close and have nearly made it to such a yearly event, would it be not be best to send someone else up the ladder into the attic ??

I thought at first it was how your mind works, anyone knowing you would agree and understand this, which incidently is why xmas is such an expensive time for you, lest you disagree!
That said, when looking at the symbol I took the point and I grateful for the opportunity to clear it up lest anyone else get the wrong end of the stick (pun intended)
Falling down the ladder from the attic onto the landing holds no fear for me, I have done it twice before!
The most painful part was the second time, I ripped £95s worth of Hackett top!
Drat,drat and double drat

All this talk of Christmas reminds me of a story I heard many years ago.
Regarding a chap who bought his young pretty bride a knee length Santa suit,
Which fitted exactly,
Resting just above the knee as it was originaly designed to do.
This suit was of course to add a little glamour, play and spice to Christmas.
Which she wore this Christmas and every year following.
” Sadly though some years later the same knee length Santa suit now rests
just under her chin “.

Dear Sir ,
You may wish to look at and amend your life cover prior
to amending or altering your will ?.

there is a period in time for things like sexy santa suits.
Here in GY Ann Summers has a shop right next to HMV and everytime I walk out of there I am confronted with their latest promo posters (and very pleasant it is too)
A while ago there was a real honey very scantily dressed and the poster proclaimed available up to size 18 - well …..that’s just wrong.

>>available up to size 18
A lot of this stuff should not even be available above a size 10 - I shudder at the thought of some of it
Keep it Up!

You may want to stay clear of the Claret for a couple of days,
the sign reads
_ Must Be Over 18 _

I may take your suggestion and have a drier night tonight, though I am always aware of such things as mentioned above - the poster and subsequent mental image is burned into my conscience

That, Messrs Collins and Damon, is size-ist and inflammatory … so unlike you both!
Any more remarks like this and we will have to divulge the fiasco that was Rod and the loin cloth fitting on Tuesday ……

I am so sorry to hear that the size 18 causes such devastating images in ones mind.
Sadly as you get older you do get used to encountering such things !.
Its what’s known as a “Close Encounter of the Large Kind ”
of which at 72 i am eternally grateful.

you know how shallow I am! What can I say?
As to the fitting, it was a cold day, your hands were even colder and I did urge caution when you got the pins out.
The statistical chances of a direct hit with the pin were mathematically very small, yet perhaps somehow inevitable

pleased to hear your inactivity in the book business has not exended to all aspects of your life.
Personally, I believe that anyone over the age of 40 should be banned from any horizontally based recreational activities.
The mental images are all too unpleasant - it’s a young persons game that should only be engaged in by attractive people.
The rest of us should watch the TV

Back on track …… Baubles, should you shouldn’t you? Yes you should.
This is perhaps a good time for the Witches to tell you how talented, handsome and good all round egg you are …… before Will revision time!

Stop being such a ‘Grinch’, Scrooge’
Get the decorations out celebrate!
As RB says, you have made it through another year, nearly unscathed, celebrate this fact.
Stop all this bemoaning and thinking about it, just DO IT!! Far too much time and energy is wasted, rejoice in the fact you are alive and healthy!!
Light a cigarette, open a bottle of Claret and another one to breath whilst you drink the first, uncork the Jack Daniels.
You have no worries, and if the hardest thing you have to worry and think about is to whether you put some trimmings up, then bloody rejoice in that fact too!!!
Realistic

That kind of puts it in perspective. When I read your post the words nail and head jumped into mind.
Nobody has suggested otherwise, so decorations it is then. Never let it be said Goldeneye Land is undemocratic.
I shall start tomorrow - the excitement is palpable
