Ryanair Schoolgirl Ad Ban or Not ?
Should the RyanAir ‘Britney Spears’ Sexy Schoolgirl Advert be Banned ?
Whether done to court contoversy or just plain sex sells this one may have backfired on the budget airline
The advert features a model, not underage we hasten to add, dressed in a costume in the style of the St Trinian’s girls or Britney Spears debut video.
We’re on record before as saying we’re not too keen on the implications of this, St Trinian’s - Girls Aloud, clearly we’re not prudish here but this clearly seeks to exploit the sexuality of school girls.

RYANAIR Back to School Advert
There seems to be enough pressure on young people to grow up ‘too early’ nowadays and this just smacks of something not right. I’m not outraged, nor do I think it’s a truly bad - just … not right in my mind.
Sex sells of course, the oldest marketing ploy, I’m all for sexy ads but should they suggest underage girls are sexual objects ?
After complaints The Advertising Standards Authority (ASA), has ruled against the advert which appeared in UK national newspapers. The airline claims it will not pull the campaign though - saying only a very small percentage of those seeing it complained.
Doesn’t make it right - nor does seeking to court more publicity off the back of it.
The girl is obviously stunning and the advert could have had the same impact were she clothed as an adult.
What’s the world coming to

Rod,
For once we agree with you. The poster doesn’t make us want to rush out and buy a ticket… presumably it’s meant to mean cheap prices?
