Random Thoughts Opinions and Questions for the Week

A small selection of thoughts, opinions and questions that have occurred to me this week

The Abbey Bank hedgehog advert on TV is the best advert ever in the history of the world !

Why is it illegal for a butcher to sell a lb of sausages but I can still buy a pint of beer in a pub ?

Why can’t everyone just be happy ?

    I’d rather be 41 than 21 !

How did I ever get away with all the things I have done in the past ?

Why do numerous people try to buy books that are clearly marked twice with SOLD and give me their credit card details not knowing the cost as the word SOLD appears where the price would be ?

Why has my MySpace (Hot Chick friend one) site slipped 2 places for a search on my name ?

    Should I get a part-time job ?

I know I am not ‘normal’ in the average-norm sort of way but am I a complete oddball living in his own world ?

The gas, electric and telephone companies provide an outstanding service !

Should I adopt a completely new and different lifestyle ?

    I fancy a new watch !

Do you really need another overpriced polo shirt ? Answer: No. Result: Bought anyway !

Why are magazines, clearly funded by countless adverts, so expensive ?

Well, there we are, just some of the nonsense that rolls about in an empty head

    Rod,
Just seen an Omega Deville with brown leather strap in Lincoln, £4,650.00-it’s about as cool as watches get. Let me know if you want me to pop into town and get you one.

    Rod,

41 is in the prime zone for men and in my opinion women also …. if change is not in the air then things are bound to stay as they are. Would you be happy about things staying exactly as they are? As to getting away with exploits of the past, perhaps you were subconsciously able to spot your escape route in advance. While others are wondering what day of the week it is, you are often ‘on the bus home’ if you know what I mean!

The hired help at our retirement home are in for a treat as we all babble on about our Houdini escapades!

    Rod,
Further to latest dvd purchase I’m considering an image change. Given your experience in big hair do’s of the eighties, how long would it take me to get DC’s look? Given the amount of birds swooning over him I thought it worth the effort.

I accept, that at 41, I may be in my prime when properly considered as a total package but start to isolate things and that theory falls out of the sky in flames :)

Would you be happy about things staying exactly as they are?

On balance probably yes. The life and lifestyle I lead is almost entirely of my own choosing, no aspect of it has be forced upon me. On that basis I presume I have all that I can reasonably expect to have.
I fortunate position - Once again I presume

While others are wondering what day of the week it is, you are often ‘on the bus home’ if you know what I mean!

I’ve tried to stay ahead of the game, remember Goldeneye Matra # 1

Be the first up and the last in bed !

I doubt I’ll be able to remember much by the time we hit the Goldeneye Retirement Home so stories will be thin from me, possibly the same one every day

    Regards
Rod - been there, done it, forgotten most of it

with DC being David Coverdale of Whitesnake, rather than our normal DC, I feel that image can only be carried off today by an actual rock star.

I made, as did many others, a valiant effort as a wannabe but the eighties were clearly more forgiving times than those today.

I recommend going for the other DC look, Daniel Craig
On a serious note, Coverdale looks in great shape for his age

Regarding the hair-cut I recommend the number- 1 or number- 2 with the clippers or a full head shave, as its easy to keep and you always feel as though you have had good value for money at the hairdressers !

    LB,

Horror of horrors, this David Coverdale looks like me! We even share the same birthday, thankfully not the same year ……..

Anyway you don’t need to change your image, you’re more of an Eric Clapton with biceps … that’s not bad is it? As for Rod, he is neither EC or DC, poor thing.

You see, you see, he turns on the tears and then the Witches end up having to give him a hug ….. same thing every Tuesday!

    Rod,

Being uniquely handsome is a good thing … anyway you get far too much female attention, a veritable magnet. You are not a ‘complete oddball living in his own world’, you live in Wybers Wood ………. dear, dear this isn’t getting any better ….. gin and tonic anyone?!

    I’ll take the G&T, I could use it ! No wait ………
I may be going half on the wagon !

You’re right about things not getting any better with clarification - mist and haze around all things is better.

PS. Now on page 1 for Wybers Wood and Great Coates

    Rod,

Let’s hope the mist and haze clears before Tuesday ….. out of our sight for too long and you’re bound to get into trouble.

Good luck with half a wagon, ….. ours has two wheels are still keeps rolling along!

    Rod,
Could Lincolnshire be the worst county in England for obtaining a mobile phone signal? I couldn’t get one anywhere in my house this afternoon so I went to town, parked in the Bailgate, still no signal. Drove to Hemswell, still no signal, drove back into Lincoln, parked at the gym and three hours after first trying to call a mate, managed to get a signal.
    His phone was switched off.
What’s the point of it all?

I’m going to lie on the bed now and read an awesome book I’ve just bought this afternoon

    you’re absolutely correct !
Well over 10 years ago I could happily use my cellphone in and around Lincolnshire, especially well in Horncastle. Now if I want to use it there (and this is not a joke) I have to stand on a pub car park wall outside Tim Smith’s bookshop!

I think that is why it now has a camera, diary and video games - to give you something to do when you can’t speak to anyone.

Absolute garbage ! What’s going on ? I think we should be told !

PS: Google have done what appears to be another Page Rank update (unusually the 2nd this month) - your site’s up from 3 to PR4, hope it holds and doesn’t get rolled back.
