Playboy Bunnies ~ An Endangered Species !
In an uncertain world it seems that nothing is safe - even the iconic Playboy Bunny is under threat !
Is women’s liberation, more enlightened and less sexist times to blame ?
No it’s the credit crunch !
It seems like even Hugh Hefner and the playboy corporation are suffering in today’s economic climate and he’s even having to ‘lay off’ some of his bunnies !

Save Our Bunnies
The Playboy brand is something of a business marvel which says a lot about the times we live in.
Incredibly, the brand is bigger than ever but not thanks to men ! It’s young women and young girls who are responsible for breathing new life into the brand.
One has to marvel at the feat of marketing that managed to make a brand synonymous with men to one so attractive to women.
Every single conceivable item of clothing and accessories have been adorned with the famous bunny logo.
A generation of women who have strived for equality and to have women seen as women and not merely sex objects must despair at some of the things they see around them.
Not only the relentless rise of the celebrity culture around glamour models and the like but the fact that breast implants appeal to more young women than a degree would. We touched on the fact before in the article Good Role Models for Young Girls and little seems to have changed.
Personally I say more power to girls who use whatever assets they have in any way they choose - be it brains or breasts it ill behoves anybody to look down on somebody who achieves success.
That said, it does feel as though there is something of a reversal in a new generation of young women.
Instead of wanting to make the most of so called equal opportunities many simply seem to want to copy the lifestyle of men in a binge drinking ladette culture whilst others simply want to be as ‘girlie’ as possible.
It must be a little depressing for those who fought to be taken seriously.

Rod,
A generation of women who have strived for equality and to have women seen as women and not merely sex objects must despair at some of the things they see around them. …. hold on a minute while I have a sit down, is it really you saying this?
be it brains or breasts it ill behoves anybody to look down on somebody who achieves success …. thought it was too good to last, far be it for us to point out that not all people who achieve success are to be applauded. A mix of brains and breasts however is a killer combination, although brains aren’t essential they’re certainly useful

it is me saying it and it’s no different to anything else I’ve said really, you’ll also note when reading the sentence it talks about the ‘despair’ of women not me
Not sure I follow your second point either, I think bar drug dealing and gun running et al then all success is to be applauded.
Anybody who achieves what they set out to do or does well for themselves is deserving of praise and respect in my book.
We make too many allowances for failure and weakness in today’s society.
If a woman makes a million modelling or running a bank they’ve both done very well - much better than most of the people who may think about pulling them down that’s for sure.
All the best

Rod,
bar drug dealing and gun running et al … well yes of course but it’s the et al contingent where we might disagree. This does not include the women who model, good luck to ‘em that’s what we say.
It’s high time women took over the world anyway, whether they be witches or bunnies
It must be a little depressing for those who fought to be taken seriously. As to those who fought for the rights of women, they must be turning in their graves over the issues that still exist in various countries and cultures. Women in general tend to take themselves very seriously, it’s men they struggle to comprehend more often than not

I heartily agree here. It is a mystey to me why our government panders to to states which deny women basic rights and treat them as second class citizens.
If a state turned round and said, let’s randomly say Jewish people for the sake of argument, that those of Jewish faith could not drive cars, go to college or university, be unable to vote and could be stoned to death if found guilty of having an affair there would be worldwide condemnation.
For some reason the world turns a blind eye to the fact that this is happening to women.

PS: the no driving is probably a good idea though
