Plans for 2013
Plans for 2013
An informal post which looks ahead to 2013, what to do and where to go . . . opinions and what you’re planning most welcome
What to do in the new year . . .
Whilst not wishing away my time I shall be glad to see the advent of Spring and the resumption of some nice day trips in Lincolnshire.
I’ll be heading further afield this year which means more planning, research before I go to make sure I get to see and photograph all I need when I’m there.
Distance, travelling time and cost of motoring will dictate a more organized methodology.
Another thing I’ll be looking to do is try and do some interesting photography.
I’ve discussed previously that things are tricky in that area. The lack of interesting things to photograph is a real drag.
I prefer people to places as it’s more of a challenge but this year hasn’t been a lot of use photographically really - a bit dull truth be told.
New Year Resolutions are probably something I’ll not really be worrying about.
I’ve not smoked for a year now and only drink occasionally, no TV for a year either, don’t need to lose any weight, don’t want to go on holiday and don’t want anything in material terms so . . .
I enjoyed my Kitchen Garden this year, particularly so. I’ll be on with it again this year and hoping for a bit more produce.
Running the site: I’m hoping things will get a big easier over time, I’m doing a lot every day to try and make it thus but days like today (New Years Day) remain a nightmare
Hats: I got a brown bowler hat for Christmas and I’m awaiting delivery of a brown trilby, what with all the others I’ve quite a selection now so no need to add to them - I am looking for a long tweed overcoat though - very difficult to find
So, that’s what I’m looking to do, probably sounds pretty dull to many but for me it sounds just about perfect.
I’m pleased that my life is such that one of my main problems in life is finding a good tweed overcoat, if that makes me dull them I’m happy to be so, it’s the simple life for me.
Hopefully you have plans and hopes for 2013 and I hope they come to fruition.
All the best,
Rod

Rod,
You mention Spring and guess what, I looked out into my garden this morning and the daffodils have popped their first cautious buds through the soil. Last year, you put a smile on my face one morning with a magnificent photo of nodding daffodils. What a start to New Year this morning.
Plans for the this year.
A baby grandchild in February and a baptism in May . A trip to Italy in summer .
AND this last few days, we have got the bids for a World of Music and Dance day for January AND … an entire arts week in Cheshire in February.
THE biggest plan though Rod is, we have applied to the government fund for the World War 1 centenary commemorations ( 2014 ) so we can take our workshops to schools in disadvantaged areas for the benefit of children in schools who can’t afford us. Watch this space everyone !

V,
that all sounds tremendous, really impressive and it’ll certainly keep you pleasantly busy.
I hope the funding comes through for what sounds like a great idea
Kind regards,
Rod

Thanks for the support as always Rod. It means a lot and I appreciate it .
WW1 workshops would be a new venture ahead for us. When I see what Government money IS at times spent on, I doubt we will get it to take WW1 history workshops into schools in poor parts of Britain. ( Gosh that ’s sour sounding for New Year isn’t it )
