Website Banned in Qatar
Persona Non Grata in Qatar - I’ve Been Banned by the State of Qatar
It seems I’m being misunderstood again 
This blog has been banned …
I had an email from a regular customer of mine, who has just returned to that country and in his email was this
 Interestingly enough your personal site is banned here - a banner comes down with the words“this site is banned by the state of Qatar” Very odd though no doubt it adds to your notoriety status!

What an outrage !
I’m going to write to my MP - now wait a minute I can’t, he’s in fancy dress and handing fish out somewhere in London - I’ll write to someone though, possibly

Banned I cannot believe it - why ? What for ? It wasn’t me ! I didn’t do it 
I’m sure it’s these women that have led me astray and brought this about
A while ago I noticed the site was banned from Google image search when using the default safe search - it has to disabled in options to allow this site to appear 
I’m feeling distinctly picked upon - poor little ole me !
Do you think it’s fair or is everybody picking on me
Should I start an online petition calling for the reinstatement of Goldeneye as a desirable ?

We warned you that Hot Chicks would one day get the better of you. Perhaps you were on the right track with sock etiquette and to smooth things over you could offer Napkin Etiquette as a sort of white flag

you could be right about the hot chicks though that would mean it’s my fault, as I cannot admit to being wrong I’ll blame Rod Damon
It is definately off my list of possible holiday destinations - I could be imprisoned and I’d hate to think that everyone in Lincolnshire would be hanging yellow ribbons everyone protesting for my release - not to mention the diplomatioc pressure (to keep me there)

Taken from the blurb about Qatar … ‘Before the liberalisation, it was taboo for men to wear shorts in public’ … surely you and they are singing from the same hymn sheet
Could be that now they are liberal, shorts are compulsory…

I’ve been all over this area on missions and the like and get on very well there.
A feel a strange affinity with the indiginous population, perhaps it’s because we share the same view of women driving !

whilst I would not consider wearing shorts for anything other than a sporting event I would accept, but not encourage, that they could be worn by men on the other side of the equator.
Note the word ‘could’ not ’should’
There is certainly no excuse for walking around the streets of England in shorts.
Last summer I saw someone wearing not only shorts but also sandals and socks.
Such was the trauma that it took 3 days of polishing my Church’s Oxfords and pressing of Hermes ties to recover
All of this is by-the-by though and gets us no closer to the justice, or rather lack of, in my being banned.
What’s the world coming to ?

Wonder if Mr Damon is the reason Qatar became more liberal, he tends to have that affect! Back to the old chestnut of you being banned… do we know why? The whole sock and sandal thing is bound not to have gone unnoticed by expats of a certain age…. could they be the ones who have kicked you out? All the hard work some of us do in order to keep this site respectable, a thankless task. Do we know if you are accepted in the rest of the Middle East and beyond? Perhaps best not to dig too deep…

I’m not sure how far th eban extends, it would be interesting to know if it extends to China.
It’s only going to apply to those countries that try to consore the internet so hopefully not too many.
As to exactly why … I would imagine it’s to do with images and SEO using images

Perhaps the new compartmentalized site will annex the Hot Chicks, leaving the rest of the high brow stuff to stand on it’s own…. now that would be telling! Real men like Rod Damon probably don’t have to rely on snap shots of unnaturally enhanced women… we’re sure he sees enough flesh in his day to day life and let’s hope that goes for the rest of you menfolk
