Paul Gilbert Crashed My Computer

Legendary Guitar Hero Paul Gilbert Crashed My Computer !

Not satisfied with consigning me to the living hell that is his string skipping arpeggio exercises the former Racer X and Mr Big lead guitar player has now crashed my computer - twice !

I first came across PG many years ago and always admired him but a recent return foray into the world of self-imagined guitar heroism has seen me practising hard and getting my chops back up to speed.
All seemed to be on track - scorched through a few Eddie Van Halen tracks, ate some red meat and tackled Yngwie Malmsteen again and was just in the process of purging my body and getting myself into a zen-like state ready to tackle Steve Vai when I made the mistake of surfing MySpace.

Thoroughly enjoyed Paul Gilbert and Marty Friedmanin the clips from Rock Fujiyama.
Then … I came across our man’s short tutorial on string skipping - jesus !
It’s given me something to get my teeth into and I’m getting somewhere. In this spirit I thought I would check Paul Gilbert’s MySpace page out.

Regulars will be only too aware that I have over 110 friends on MySpace, they all tend to be of a … well … er … you know, sort of in the same line of work, for example recent new friends include the likes of Kayla Kleavage, Cindy Cupcakes and Atomic Barbie - so you get the general idea.
It’s nice that they want to be my special friends and I appreciate it greatly but lest I get misunderstood I may need to diversify.

This would be an ideal opportunity, would I have the temerity to ask the great man himself to be one of my MySpace friends ?
Why not - after all, he bloody owes me for the string skipping if nothing else :)
So I tried to access the page - crashed the computer last night. Tried again this morning and crashed FireFox.

I don’t think this is a problem with his site or my computer, I expect he is running complex software the sniffs incoming IPs and I was rejected for my own good - enter at your peril - you’re not up to the job - come back when you can actually play :)

Here is PG’s own personal site Paul Gilbert Guitar Hero this one will not crash your computer but may crash any thoughts you may have harbored that you could actually play !

Regards
Rod (sore fingers)
PS: If Paul ever reads this - I don’t just watch copyright infringing videos on YouTube I’ve bought the CDs over the years and well remember trying to replicate Addicted to that Rush aaaaaaargh

    LB,
    the CD sounds great !
You’re wise to give PG a wide berth - that way madness lies !
I spent a few hours ’string skipping’ last night whilst watching a movie - it’s like a drug once you’re hooked you cannot stop :)
