Great to hear about all the stuff you’ve grown and sorry to hear about the butternut squash. Mine, thus far,seems to have gone well though I’ve yet to harvest one.
I think more and more people are trying to grow something which is a great thing all round

Thank goodness there’s more to you than meets the eye … your earthy side is far more appealing compared to all the smut featured in this blog. We’re fed up with guys looking over our shoulders and recoiling in disbelief as this blog and all it’s scantily clad women pop up…..’but he’s a really quiet and refined sort’ we say…. ‘and his knowledge of rare books is truly a wonder and he likes kitchen gardens and all that’. They smile but deep down are convinced the Witches are strange women

Anyway back to the plot….. the saddest thing is the squash patch that was planted too late and in the wrong place. Better luck next year. The best thing were the figs amazingly enough but that was more god given rather than hard work digging and nurturing. Apples in single figures but the pak choi and kale were good while they lasted. Growing your own is generally hard work and at times frustrating and yet we would still recommend everyone gives something a go especially the kids who spend far too long inside, brainwashed by computer screens. See the project through and then understand the pitfalls and the might of the weather…. taste the difference as one supermarket says. Our own grandparents grew everything and worked hard every day of the year keeping it all in order. It was both a necessity and a joy for that generation.

Well done with those onions and that splendid marrow… let us know what you are going to do with it, sure the viewers cannot wait
