New Bond Girl for the Latest Film Bond 22

Who is the New Bond Girl - Who Will Get the Female Lead Role in the New 007 Movie Bond 22 ?
Updated 15.11.07

With Bond 22 in production the rumour mill is gearing up for who will be the new Bond Girl, or, given the new direction, female lead role may be more appropriate.

I’ve decided to do what I did for Casino and keep an updated runners and riders list of all those in the frame.
Some things to bear in mind with the names that pop up:

    Some are patent nonsense
    Some are simply untrue
Some are rumours started by minor actresses seeking the role
    Some are actually true

My opinion on the winner of the Bond Girl Race is …
It will probably be a relatively unknown actress, the days of tempting a Hollywood starlet are over I believe.
She will need to be a credible actress, attractive of course but not a bimbo, Eva Green has set a high bar and will take some following.

It is widely believed there are about 5 or 6 women actually being considered, though this will bear little relation to the number of rumoured girls I suspect !

I shall be updating this as and when new names come into the frame.
So, who has been mentioned thus far …

Cleo Pires

Cleo Pires
Rumour Info: Cleo Pires is being strongly tipped by the Brazilian press
Goldeneye Verdict: Hmm not sure - not a write off but far from obvious

Moran Atias

Moran Atias
Rumour Info: Israeli actress Moran Atias is being mentioned by the top 007 forums
Goldeneye Verdict: Looks more like a bit part rather than lead role to us

Camila Alves

Camila Alves
Rumour Info: Strong - confirmed as actually screen testing for a role
Goldeneye Verdict: Looks possible though once again, actual lead role ??

Juliana Paes

Juliana Paes
Rumour Info: Has already performed a screen test
Goldeneye Verdict: As before, doesn’t immediately look like a winner

Jewel

Jewel
Rumour Info: She told The Sun she has screentested wearing a bikini!
Goldeneye Verdict: Somehow I doubt it

What really needs doing is sorting out those being considered for the lead role and those who will take lower profile roles - this should sort the wheat from the chaff as many names mentioned may only be being considered for small or even walk on parts only !

Please do bookmark the page to return as we will be bringing many more girls into the fold. We shall, of course, be confirming any definite castings.
If we’ve missed anyone or there is a new babe in the frame do let us know, or if you just have any opinions at all on the whole subject - good or bad - the fire away a comment or rant.

I will have to check my diary…. Yes, I am free, as are, I am guessing WoE.

Please advise on flight times and venue, although I believe WoE will have their own method of transport.

    Jordan,
pleased to hear you are available for the part, I’ll avoid suggesting a screen name for you in the same vein as some of the previous Bond girls :)

Please advise on flight times and venue
This flexibility and willingness to travel means you’re onto a winner.
The only reason Daniel Craig got the role as 007 was because I insisted they shot the whole of Casino Royale in Lincolnshire or I wouldn’t do it !
I refused to budge on this position so I lost the role of James Bond :)

    Jordan,

They’ll never let us witches on the set… poor old Daniel lives in fear of losing his best shirts in every seen. Still, you’ll know it’s us if the camera pans down and there’s a plate of gougere next to the champagne!

Rod and the witches run through the train scene where DC waits and Eva says ‘I’m the money’, every Tuesday. He still can’t get over the fact we’ve got more than him so there’s always a fight and the director shouts ‘cut’ and then it’s time for tea and a bun :)
