Motorhead Live Concert Review Cambridge Corn Exchange

Motorhead were playing live in Cambridge last night and we can bring you a review of the concert thanks to our man on the spot, Little Brother.

Motorhead 2006 European Tour
Just back from seeing the mighty band at the Cambridge Corn Exchange last night. After last years anniversary tour I was hoping to see them play a different set and they didn’t disappoint.Very loud as usual! Here’s the set list as far as I can remember (the free flowing stella doesn’t help)

    Dr.Rock
    Stay Clean
    Killers
    Smiling Like a Killer
    Metropolis
    Rosalie (tribute to Phil Lynnot)
    In the Name of Tradgedy
    I got Mine
    Whorehouse Blues
Just ‘Cause You’ve Got the Power
    Killed By Death
    Overkill
    Ace Of Spades
    Over the Top
    Iron Fist
    Going To Brazil
    Sacrifice
    Devil I know

There was another from the Kiss of Death album but I can’t remember which. I don’t know why they didn’t do Under the Gun-it’s a modern classic!

    Sounds great LB !
For me I’d have liked them to play, amongst others, Smiling Like a Killer from Inferno, Sweet Revenge and Sharpshooter from Bomber.

Rod, we always find a quick phone call to the local cinema to say we’re on our way so kindly clear the queue, works very well. With your standing in the community surely you’d have no problem, even a red carpet?

LB, do us all a favour and take your big brother to the pictures or we may never hear the last of it.

p.s. did you spot any fishnet clad hot rock chicks or was it more a case of nora batties? WoE

    Rod,
They did do Smiling Like a Killer-I forgot!
Totally agree with the Bomber tracks but why oh why do they leave out ‘Shine’
    I’ll never understand it.

    Witches,
Last time we went to the cinema together was to see Love Story. It was very embarrasing, he cried his eyes out and made a pig of himself with popcorn and cheesey quavers-never again.

Re Rock chicks, I failed to see any. There were some real grunters and that’s with my beer goggles on!

I am sure I could make my presence felt at the flicks if only:
They would actually open the building
A living being would actually answer the phone
    Their website actually worked

As this limits my options I shall return to plan A
I shall burn the place down, possibly later today, that way nobody will be able to see the film.
If I can’t see Casino I don’t see why anyone else should be able to (stomps off sulking)

    Rod,
Love the new Motorhead pic, will he be joining the retirement home gang? If so,I will have to increase my working hours(dressed in a maids outfit, of course) to accomodate all of the gorgeous men that may need my services!!!!!
    Love TCxx

Lemmy will not be retiring anywhere, he’ll go on forever!
He is, and all this is true:

    60 years old
    Still doing world tours
Drinks between 1 and 2 bottles of Jack Daniels a day
Still takes drugs as he has done since being a teenager
    Smokes 60 Marlboros a day
Continues to enjoy the benefits of of groupies etc etc

What a man! Makes the rest of us look pathetic

You can see a picture of the type of uniform in the Alexis Amore post.
    Cheers
    Rod

TC, the bloke featured along side the lovely Mr Collins looks like old Scrunge the gardener/odd job man that LB interviewed recently for the future Shady Pines retreat.

Rod, do men like this suffer from deafness and arthritis? What keeps them going ….. perhaps he’s stumbled on a curative that might benefit the gang.

on the advice of Keith Richards Lemmy went to get his blood changed.
A gradual transfusion apparantly which eventually replaces all your blood with clean toxin free stuff!

His blood was so polluted and poisoned that they banned him from donating blood and told him his body now runs this way and to try aany healthy etc would probably kill him !
    What a Man !

    Thong Chick,
I saw Lemmy at close quaters the other night, if you think he’s gorgeous then I’m George Clooney. I live in renewed hope!
