Monaco Grid Girls ~ A Bit Different to Cleethorpes

Well it’s F1 Monaco this weekend and spurred on by the glitz and glamour of the Formula One Grand Prix and the
(click for picture gallery) legendary Monaco Pit Babes I decided I too should visit a harbour side tourist destination . . .

Predicted to be the hottest day of the year I decided to head to the seaside for the morning before the Grand Prix starts.
Having seen, and immersed myself in, all the glitz and glamour that surrounds the Monaco Grand Prix yesterday during the qualifying session I was in for a rude awakening this morning !
Monaco Grid Girls 2009No, the picture is not one I took on Cleethorpes sea front though I can see why you were easily taken in :)
In fairness it was a glorious morning and a great place to be - fabulous fresh air, blazing sun and just a light cooling breeze - excellent !

However . . .

If you were looking for the complete antithesis to the allure and Pit Babe glamour at Monte Carlo then it is to be found at Cleethorpes Sunday Market. More of that in another post - I’ve decided it worthy of its own write up.

I walked for over 2 hours solid and enjoyed every minute of it as did most of the other people I saw there by the looks of it.
Arriving early is essential as the roads get log jammed with traffic mid morning as people seem inextricably drawn to the seaside on a Bank Holiday Weekend.
As always, the quest to spot somebody else on their own (do walkers not included) proved fruitless so I ploughed on alone looking conspicuous amongst the crowds in more ways than one !

The possibility of attracting a female mate also looked more remote than Gordon Brown winning an election - they all looked far too high maintenance.
Far too expensive looking for somebody in my position :(
I mean to say, what would it cost to feed them

Apart from the exercise, fresh air and smug self-contained amusement I also bought a non-fiction book called The Arcadian Cipher which looks to be of great historical interest and a bargain.
You note how easily I glide from looking at girls to reading about deciphering ancient manuscripts !
I’m nothing if not flexible :)
