Marco Pierre White to Front Hells Kitchen

Marco Pierre White is to be the new chef for the next series of Hell’s Kitchen - taking over from Gordon Ramsay.

Marco Pierre White seemed to be one of the only so called ‘celebrity’ chefs to have kept an air of dignity in the recent plethora of dumbed down cookery antics. He kept his reputation intact by avoiding such garbage but it now looks as though the temptation has proved too much even for him.

Indeed, so keen does he appear to be to play the game he verbally attacked Jamie Oliver and Gordon Ramsay, a former trainee of his, at the press conference announcing him as the new presenter of the show - very sad !

Needless to say televisual bonanza will feature ‘celebrities’ - I’m already losing the will to live.

Why do people who are already rich sell their pride and dignity like this - I would have lost money on a bet believing Marco Pierre White would never have done such a thing.

PS: A black day for Our Man in the Kitchen I suspect

    Rod,
A black day indeed, he was the reason I went into cooking in the way that I did. He is easily the most influential chef of the last twenty years-a real genius. His first book, White Heat has stood the test of time and is still my bible to this day. I think he could lose a lot of respect for this, I wish he had retired in the same way as his mentor, Pierre Koffman-quietly with dignity and respect-a real chef’s chef.
    As for Ramsay, oh dear.

I thought you’d feel that way - it is a shame. The sad thing is, for those of us who only know a little of these things, it will probably be how he is remembered.

Ramsay, for example, will not be remembered for his food or business empire but for swearing on TV.

The best case scenario would be that he did the thing ‘properly’ but he’s already gone tabloid by calling Oliver etc - just for headlines and publicity.

    Hell’s Kitchen
Looking forward to this one - should make for good viewing.

Watched some of the last series, good programme,
too much swearing and to many childish tantrums by Ramsey though,
I am surprised no one ever levelled him ! if you know what I mean.

I have always assumed and I think most people will agree any one with a skill and works hard, should get respect - be respected for it , its well earned.
But how can you take someone serious when they
start swearing and playing up like a spoilt child on national TV ?.

On a serious note , I wonder if all the media exposure
has done him, his career and business more harm than good ?.

” Better go …. its nearly time for Ready Steady Cook ! …….
