thanks for that, I've not looked into it beyond the newspaper article but was struck because I did not dismiss the story out-of-hand !
I believe there may be a press conference this week.
The results you mention are strange, as you say if it comes fro a known creature then presumably they can say so categorically !

96% is kind of an odd number for me. Whenever people talk about DNA testing, it's seen as a 99% or 100% test, so quite how they get 96% is curious. Who is to say that the Bigfoot isn't a remote descendant of the opossum line?</description>
