Judge Dudley Bennett ~ At Last A Proper Judge
Judge Dudley Bennett - Awesome !
It’s a bit of a London Cabbie opinion I know, but that doesn’t make it wrong, but I get sick and tired of the ludicrous judgements dished out by British Courts !
A beacon of light ~ Step Forward Judge Dudley Bennett
Judges seem to be judged almost as much as those who appear before them and frankly when you see some of the nonsense that comes from the British legal system it’s little wonder.
We’ve all heard the stories of judges, falling asleep, wildly irrational sentencing and a complete failure to punish the dregs of society even to the full extent of the law let alone to the extent they deserve.
Step forward a breath of fresh air:
Scenario: A man in Nottingham finds a drug addict burgling his house, what does he do …
He head buts the burglar !
You can guess what happens next . . . the judge finds him guilty of assaulting the criminal and sentences him to a far more harshly than the burglar !
Oh No - not in the court of Judge Dudley Bennett
What did he have to say to the man accused of burglary:
‘He was perfectly reasonable to head butt you. It serves you right, in fact’
If more judges exercised commonsense like this then the law and courts would be held in much higher regard.
Perhaps if they threw out more of the ridiculous claims for compensation and told people who trip on pavement to ‘watch where they are going’ or people who sue their employers because they weren’t trained to use a 3 step ladder which is why they fell off . . . I could rant on.
Our heroic judge now has a Facebook group in his honour, pun intended, needless to say I have joined it !
A single victory for sense and justice in a tidal wave of politically correct nonsense, waffle and claptrap.
Let’s hear it for Judge Dudley Bennett
Your Judgingly

On This Day in History
The Americans invaded the Bay of Pigs hoping to topple Castro, as with most invasions history proves it to have been a complete waste of time

The Bay of Pigs fiasco led to the development of the term “group think.” Advisors, hoping to please their commander-in-chief, only gave Kennedy the information they thought he wanted to hear. The result was a totally bungled job.

BTW, how are the new jeans working for you?

Annie,
ultimately most invasions turn out to be a disaster, look at the millions of lives lost in Europe fighting over a field or a few hundred yards of land - all of which has now been returned to the original owner - gains = nothing - losses = unimaginable
As to the jeans, perfectly servicable, a good fit and needless to say I cut something of a dash in them
That said they’re not a patch on Diesel in terms of quality.

Rod,
most invasions turn out to be a disaster … quite right and likely to be so for those latest Japanese thong jeans

Is this the turning point we have all been waiting for?
Is this mad mad world of “political correctness” coming to an end?
Well done Judge Dudley, lets hope this new boldness spreads to all other Judges/Magistrates etc.
