Jade Clay ~ Winner Miss Grimsby 2009
Jade Clay is officially Miss Grimsby 2009
The news, quite literally, hot of the press is fantastic !
Not only did Jade win the public vote but also the ‘inner sanctum’ one at the St James Hotel this afternoon.
Firstly, we would like to congratulate JC on winning the title and gaining entry to the Miss England finals when she will represent the town
If anybody deserved to win then it was Jade. Although we can’t show bias she’s been a great personality in not only this event but previous ones as well - also kind enough to promote the event and also comment on this site.
A lot of dedication to vraious events has led up to this victory - so thoroughly well deserved - in our opinion
JC is from Humberston and is currently studying Art and Design, she is also in the running for the sister competition run by the Grimsby Evening Telegraph (it’s no longer called Evening as it comes out before freshly baked bread form the bakers but people still call it that in my search stats 
)
This is what she had to say in re the return of that competition:
“It is brilliant for the town and it will be a fantastic opportunity for me as it ties in wonderfully with the Miss England competition.”
Naturally, our thanks and commiserations go to all the other girls in the contest and it was good of them to enter into the spirit and to represent the town in a positive and fun light - it was a good clean fight and hopefully everybody gained and nobody lost anything - many thanks !
The day however belongs to JC
As mentioned previously, she did win the public vote but that did not guarantee the title, that was in the hands of the judges and they, quite rightly, ratified the vote - the public have spoken and found a worthy winner.
We shall be backing JC all the way to the finals of Miss England so for further information as and when it becomes available we’ll be updating this page - so check back !
I’m sure everybody, including all the other contestants would like to join me in saying . . .

I just want to say congrats to Jade, she totally deserved to win and from what i saw today she is a great girl with a fab personality and is perfect to represent grimsby!
She got on with all the other girls straight away and is also v brave (skydive).
I wish her the best of luck in the Miss England Semi Finals and i hope she has a fab year!
