Illuminated Manuscripts

Illuminated manuscripts must be one of the most impressive areas in book collecting. Collecting seriously, is, well beyond most individuals. That though, should not stop us all appreciating them.

When you look at a book today, the paper starts to turn brown after a year, just carefully reading it turns it from being very fine to near VG ! We should be ashamed.
Our American cousins have, at least, learnt something and use acid free paper. Over here however, that extra 10p per book is, apparantly, not worth it.
