How Tall is Daniel Craig ~ 007 James Bond

How tall is Daniel Craig ?
Not the most burning question in the world today perhaps but one he has always dodged by saying:
“Let’s just say I am somewhere between 5ft and 6ft.”
Well it seems that James Bond is wearing stacked heels

A UK national newspaper is reporting that our man is wearing platform shoes to bolster his height when filming with Gemma Arterton - load of old baloney then - well no they have quotes from the star of St Trinian’s herself !

Daniel is 5ft 10in, but when they put me in heels I was taller than him and it didn’t look good on screen.

He had to wear shoes with a lift in them and stacked heels for a few scenes – but he took it very well. He thought it was funny

Ouch !
A touch of Foot and Mouth disease there diagnoses Dr Rod - the Best Doctor in Grimsby
So there you go - the answer to the question is 5 feet 10 inches
Now if I could find out the answer to the question How Much Does Daniel Craig Weigh then it would satisfy a huge number of searchers who come to the Quantum of Solace Workout 1000s of people have visited this site by asking the what is his weight question.

As DC is the first actor to play 007 who is below 6 foot tall this could explain the somewhat prickly attitude he has shown toward the issue, hopefully he is not suffering from Short Man Syndrome ! SMS could be very tricky especially for a would be stud, super-hero and saviour of the world !

I think the easiest thing would have been to use me as his stunt double when it comes to scenes with the likes of Olga Kurylenko :)
Sizing up at over 6ft 2″ your host would fit the bill nicely thereby saving DC the embarrassment of wearing Cuban heels or standing on a box !

I did have another title and slant to this post which was entirely inspired by our very own Jordan. Known for cutting no nonsense views this comment was not so much ‘near the knuckle’ but ‘off at the elbow’ read the second comment down
I was going to title the post Daniel Craig needs an extra couple of inches says new Bond Girl.
Given that DC is such a good egg as far as this site is concerned I decided not to go down that route in appreciation of all the traffic he brings - aren’t I nice ?

Well actually I thought it was too obvious and clichéd ;)

It does beg the more interesting question though:

Does it matter if a man is shorter than his wife - partner - girlfriend ?
If so who is more bothered by it the man or the woman ?

So what? Why is this congenital property so important, and why is bigger better? What disadvantage does James Bond have, when he is 178 cm?

Seriously, I expect better, less superficial, blog entries from a retired man who has plenty of time thinking about more interesting topics

    Hi Tom
thanks for the comment and welcome to the site, to take your points:

Why is this congenital property so important
I don’t say it is, indeed it is the question I ask at the end. Clearly it has no ‘real’ importance, any importance height has is purely from society and opinion.

What disadvantage does James Bond have, when he is 178 cm
Very little in reality but clearly Daniel Craig and the film makers believe that the opinions society has ingrained in their subconscious make this an issue.

    Seriously, I expect better,
    Can’t argue with that :)

retired man who has plenty of time thinking about more interesting topics
In my defence I did try to make it potentially of interest rather than just 007 fluff news by the questions at the end:
Does it matter if a man is shorter than his wife - partner - girlfriend ?
If so who is more bothered by it the man or the woman ?

Thanks again for the comment and opinions Tom hope you’ll return to comment again
    All the best

I heard Daniel Craig saying in an interview that he is 5′11′. I remember when he first signed and was announced as bond the height issue was huge. I would consider that tall and he is the best bond yet!
