Help Save Our Hedgehogs

British hedgehogs have been added to the list of protected species !
Do something now !

This green list is made up of species within the UK that require special protection due to dwindling numbers, it runs to some 1,149 species.
Well, I don’t care much about the other 1,148 just the hedgehogs ! Sorry about that

British Hedgehog

Deliberately Cute Picture
Here in the hope of stirring some of you into action

Why is There a Decline in Hedgehog Numbers ?

According to Hogwatch much is due to increasing urbanisation and also tidy gardens and decking etc.
There is also something else that disturbed me greatly - this increasing humanized urban sprawl is forcing our spikey friends back out into the countryside - that seems like good news, they’ll be happier and safer there - but no …
Bloody Badgers !
I just found out they eat our spavined companions
Needless to sasy, their numbers are increasing - this now means the badger is my enemy and a pox on the species !

What Can I Do to Help Hedgehogs ?

Firstly, you must do all that you can !
Secondly visit the website above and learn all you can
Thirdly join the British Hedgehog Preservation Society or at the very least bookmark the site - it tells you everything you need to know.
If you have a garden do all you can to encourage them - they are the gardener’s friend after all.
They will do you no harm only good and be beneficial in keeping things like slugs at bay

Do your bit - your country needs you - stop worrying about worms in Amazonian Rain Forests - your efforts are needed here !
Regards
Rod
PS - please do take the time to visit the sites above if you read this - thank you
