    Rod,

10: The Girls on Plenty of Fish - online dating, more like online ageing … now, now, we thought it had nothing to do with age, more of a condition issue :) So we may conclude that after a global search, Paul Gilbert is the nearest thing to a Collins bride? Have you tried an ad in the Personals at the back of Angling Monthly?

As to ‘never feeling tired’ a friend of mine who manages a gym suggests getting a rowing machine…. the Witches suggest having your thyroid checked out.

it’s not so much ageing as ageing gracefully as they say :)

The search for a bride has now ended - the dealine has expired with no business resulting.
Attention will now be turned to other things of a non-bridal nature !

I get plenty of exercise but although tiring for a short while immediately afterwards simply results in me getting fitter and having more energy.
I like it but every now and then it would be nice to feel tired about 11pm ish go to bed and wake at 7.30.

the Witches suggest having your thyroid checked out
I was hoping to get it checked out this week but no potentail partners stepped up nor were there any volunteers to check out the Goldeneye Thyroid :)
My anatomy is less than great so I could be thinking it’s somewhere it isn’t !

    Rod,

Be very careful who you allow anywhere near the Goldeneye thyroid, there are some funny people about…

We are sad to hear the nuptial search is temporarily off… it has become quite obvious to us that our ostrich plumes might have to wait a while longer before getting a ceremonial airing. Still, we have been able to have them vac-packed for freshness… the rest is in the pickling jar where it will stay until we the call to arms :)

Doesn’t all the reading you do before lights out bring sleepiness? We are concerned about the nature of your late night viewing, perhaps it’s that which keeps you awake? Shame we can’t all have just a pinch of that excess energy of yours, most people we know are constantly worn out … life isn’t fair sometimes.

Oh, I am so sorry your such for a bride ended so quickly. C’est le vie, mate. As for not feeling tired/sleepy–might I suggest that you check your depression level. It should peak in here somewhere due to S.A.D.–seasonal affective disorder. This disorder is very prevalent in England and the Scandinavian countries, as well as elsewhere.

Seems as though the Witches and I are into the old mothering mode. I shall have a glass of bourbon and chide myself for such inclinations.

Sorry I didn’t respond to your post on books. I have read THE HISTORIAN and loved it. I gave it to a friend here in SoCal and sent the German language version to my ex-partner. Both loved the book, and found it exciting to read, as well as, a challenge to navigate the timelines of the narrative. As the friend said, “This is the book THE DA VINCI CODE should have been.

I started BIRDSONG about the time A VERY LONG ENGAGEMENT hit the theatres. I found them similar to a point. BIRDSONG seems to have more nuances, and more atmospheric threads. If you haven’t seen A VERY LONG… it is worth renting and watching. The cinematography is outstanding, and the use of color divine. A few of the newer Chinese films have explored the use of color along the same lines, using nature for inspiration and symbolism. On the subject of films, LA VIE EN ROSE is a stunning, tour de force for the lead actress. Edith Piaf gave us such wonderful music to which this film pays homage.

I am currently reading my garden and landscape books looking for inspiration. Perhaps I should re-watch the films just mentioned to get me in the mood. Everything must peak in color and design by April 19 when I am hosting a bridal shower for my future daughter-in-law in my garden. I have weeded the flower beds, planted a myriad of flowers, a tree, and a large English boxwood (a nod to my friends and bloogers in England). I could now use a recommendation on something I can read as I rest my aching bones, and muscles from the aforementioned tasks. So Grimsby bookseller, WoE, pony up and give me your thoughts. Shall I dive into Elizabeth George or Kathy Reichs? Any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I believe I cautioned you, and anothers, against buying wedding frocks or getting the sponge bag trousers dry cleaned !

You’re on the money my Witchly friend, I had to give up watching the lovely Lucy Pinder on Nuts TV although this made no difference - I suspect it is the Paul Gilbert DVDs that are over-stimulating me :)

    Annie
In fairness, I did give over 7 days the the find a wife plan, that I feel should have been sufficient.

I shall find a new venture to fill my free time !

I’ve certainly had enough of winter Annie but it’s not that bad - yet :)
I suspect te problem lies in me being the Peter Pan of Wybers Wood - it will end in total regression and I’ll be runnning around in circles in a plan pen I suspect.

Pleased you enjoyed The Historian and good luck with the bridal shower, Id come over for it but weddings make me nervous :)

Kathy Reichs is better than Patricia Cornwell IMHO, I have the first 6 or 7 books in my collection and have read them all.
I like Elizabeth George although the first editions are difficult to get hold of.

As of last night I am reading the greatest books in the history of the world - ever !
The Warlord Chronicles by Bernard Cornwell, I don’t know how many times I’ve read the Arthurian Trilogy but I never tire of it, it’s like going back to an old friend.

I think that you should stick to growing your veg rather than finding a wife. It seems that you are quite good at this venture, although i hope you don’t expect your veg to grow in a week! ;-)

Peter Pan of Wybers Wood! Should i ever venture into the Lincolnshire Wolds and happen upon you dwelling, would i see a flying man?

As for not finding Sweet Potato seeds…. You should venture out to a good garden centre, you need to be looking at potato seedlings (i.e they look like shrivelled dried up potatos).

Loving WoE post in the SMS. You being a LOSS. Corker!! Go Girls, your flighing high!

You’re right I think, I’ll stick to pulling parsnips rather than trying to pull women :)

You may indeed see me swirling around the Lincolnshire Wolds, albeit sans green tights, probably chasing after an imaginary tinkerbell as well :)
