PPK, I have to tell you that Rod has been in therapy for some time now and has made very little progress, the mind altering tisanes have proved useless to an old sage like him.

In our final book of the series …. Fishing in the Shallows, we explore the singular dimension of the average male…… after the initial page we have resorted to cosmetic ads to bulk it out. Copies are available at all good book shops, libraries, WI meeting rooms and on the back of baked bean tins.

We must however, take issue with you over your comment about the noble Collins profile. Like Russian Ivy, it sort of grows on you with time. Only a person with a predilection for the ’shabby chic’ (and mind altering tisanes)could possibly understand.

Must dash, we are making a new wax effigy, well actually it’s an old ‘Ken’ remodelled as George Clooney! WoE

I was considering buying a Brad Pitt mask to help with my predicament.

Pretty good list apart from the smoking, I just smoke fish with tea leaves and wild herbs (difficult getting into a rizzla at first but achievable with practice) I must agree with Rod about a matchmaker, frankly I would rather go blind with syphallis then get ‘fixed up’ or should I say ’stiched up’. Saying that, if you can find a lady who is avaliable between 2.30 and 5.00 every afternoon and doesn’t ask for cash upfront then I might be interested!

I have never, or indeed will ever, try any of the above. I am far too old for such nonsense.

I feel I need a matchmaker like a hole in the head WoE, besides as you rightly point out the task faced by any matchmaker would be of Herculean proportions!

Your list of requirements is both comprehensive and accurate, nothing is there that I would remove though I could add considerably to it. Underlining once more, were it needed, the overwhelming task facing anyone on the matchmaking front.

LB is a differtent case and is possibly salvageable, were as I am not.
All this talk of romance has given me an uncommon thirst - it looks as though it may be another good night for the wine producers of France

Boys, leading on from the fish thing …. skate, speed skating, speed dating, ever tried it? I don’t know anyone who has but could be worth a try, although I’m not sure about Rod and his interview technique. We might have to have some trial sessions with a stopwatch before we let you both loose as it were. What you both need is a trusty matchmaker, but let’s just stop and see what these women have got to put up with …..

Whereas my friends, what we have available so far in Lincolnshire are 150 Portuguese non English speaking farm labourers, some of which are women. I’ll keep looking …
