Good for Books Horncastle
Good for Books Horncastle Bookshop
We may start a series of reviews for secondhand and antiquarian bookstores
There is always something magical about finding a new shop and Good for Books Horncastle was no exception.
It has expanded since we first visited and comprises of three main sections.
The stock is both interesting and varied, covering rare books, first editions, antiquarian to screaming bargains (3 tomes for £1 !!!!) and everything in-between.
One large plus point, in my eyes at least, is the freshness of stock. Continually rotated with new stock added daily. Combine this with a high turnover rate and the shelves always look new and fresh.
I’ve lost track of the numbers of tired stale looking shelves of stock i’ve seen over the years, a curse for many booksellers - no such problems here though.
The owners are both friendly and helpful and the location in Horncastle is particularly good with a further two stores in the town - something of a booktown in fact.
So, the overall verdict:
Goldeneye 5 Stars
I have personally bought well here, both in terms of my collection and business wise. There is no internet nonsense in this shop - everything is priced to sell.
We definately recommend a visit, see also related post Tim Smith Books
