Goldeneye is Poorly

Your host finds himself laid low !

Needless to say I am rising above it, though this touch of a cold could render a lesser man useless.
Obviously, when men get affected by colds it is generally very serious.
This is something women struggle to grasp.
I know girls give birth and other such minor things but very few have experienced anything as bad as man flu !

I know many of you will be terribly worried about me but rest assured I am battling on and fighting the good fight.
I am fully stocked with everything I need but welcome any left-field cures that I should perhaps try

Regards

Glad to help, sweat it out!

Maybe WoE could make you a potion up, hair of rat and eye of goose or something along those lines.

    Morning Rod ,
Sorry to hear about the Man-flu, not pleasant.
Plenty of fluids should see you well in a very short time.

I should be very reluctant to take one of WoE’s potions, who knows what else they might slip in it !

you ,of course, are only too aware of the serious nature of man flu and as such your good wishes are duly noted.
I must dash as I am once again back in touch with The Coxeman !
I hope to have something from him shortly

Regarding illness I was nearly taken ill yesterday by a wallet attack !
Which at this time of year though unavoidable is not pleasant.
Tuesday evening my television started playing up quite badly,
the picture was going light and then dark until in the end I turned it off !.
My first thoughts were £1600 its less than three years old **** !
So Wednesday morning I set about to rectify this situation by
    calling a repair man.
Yes they would be very happy to look at the TV but after Christmas ,
the cost for collection and an estimate of the work need would be £120 +
the work needed on top, after a little thought on this I decided that
I would replace it for one of those all singing and dancing
dogs b…….. jobs, so back on the phone, this time yes they had what I wanted in stock and would deliver this 50 inch
£1500 piece of kit before Christmas, then came the But ! are you HD ready Sir? uuuuuurr what else do I require was my reply,
your aerial sir is it compatible will it be ok for digital ? , No I guess not , then you will need to replace it .
So then I was back on the phone for an aerial , three quotes for the same thing £70 - £220 fitted .
But then it got interesting while talking to the aerial chap he said the reception in your area has been very bad lately
you may have noticed ? , Yes I replied I just nearly bought a new TV,
No don’t bother a new aerial set up properly will fix it.
So a stroke of luck , I spent £100 on an aerial , saved the cost of the not needed repairs and on top of that the £1600
i was going to spend on a new TV.
    A Result.

phew! near miss, what a stroke of luck, I should go out and buy a lottery ticket !

Have you thought about donating the money you have saved to a charity - it would be a nice thought given the time of the year.

Rod, you poor thing ….. do not worry dear boy, the witches will rush over with one of our best selling body balms. We should warn you that it might have a slight wiff of mincemeat …. our one pot cooking allows for a range of hearty meals and poultices when necessary.

All you need to acquire is a mile of bandage and some rollerskates ……. think of the advantages, you can go/be wheeled to your next party, as the invisible man ….. no need to starch!

Rod, never fear the WoE painting and decorating department have all the necessary gear to literally render you with our patented body balm. A secret recipe of course but we can reveal that it contains goose fat, polyfiller and our very own herbal tea kindling. Once the bandages have set we light the fuse and stand well back … the whole procedure is designed to be energy efficient, entertaining for any passing neighbours, germ repelling with the added bonus that you may never willingly smoke again.

    Rod,
Oh well, s**t happens. Can’t be as bad as my rasping sore throat and bronchial cough of last week. Don’t listen to anyone who says alcohol dehydrates you, it only does if you stop drinking!

the remedy sounds intriguing but may mess my hair up so I’ll have to pass, sorry to spoil your fun.
I need to look smart at all times, indeed tonight I shall sleep in a suit, shirt and tie lest the lord takes me in the night.
I want to look smart when I leave La Casa Goldeneye for the last time - feet first!
