Feverdogg ~ Album and Single Review \m/
Picture the scene, I’m walking in the small market town of Louth, (trip coming to a blog near you soon) keeping a low profile and trying to avoid being arrested again for Being Awesome in a Built Up Area
when who do I bump into . . . ?
Jimmy Brewer, the second best guitarist in Lincolnshire ![]()
So there we stood, two guitar heroes, one self-imagined the other lead guitarist in Feverdogg, but that’s enough name dropping.
Talk of how the band was going led to a promise of a preview disc of the new album and the single Alarms.
If I’d gotten everything in life I’d been promised I’d either be very rich or in hospital with gout and syphilis - as it happens life is full of disappointments . . .
However, in this case two discs landed on the Goldeneye doormat - and for the last two days that’s all I’ve listened to !
And the verdict . . . Awesome !
So awesome in fact I wanted to share my favourite track with you - Lights Out.
This turned out to be more involved than I thought - I had to rip the track from the CD, create a video (never done it before took some figuring out) then upload it to YouTube just so you can listen to it - so you bloody well better do !
Legal Disclaimer: This is a flagrant abuse of copyright and I have absolutely no permission or right to do this !
It’s fair to say it’s perhaps not the finest promo video ever created, in fact it’s probably the worst but as they used to say before even I was born
It’s all about the music man !
Anyway, there’s a bit of a gap at the beginning and then the pictures stop - in fact it sucks but the track is great and it’s done what I wanted it to do - give you the chance to listen to it.
There is also another video below of Alarms which I would also like you to listen to (check out the guitar riffs about half way through each track, 2mins and 2.30 mins respectively (did I say I’d listened to the CD a few times) they’re cracking !
All of the tracks are impressive, varied from rock to some nice reggae guitar chops and some with a ‘jazz feel’ swing, you need to get a copy as and when you can !
Enough from me
Verdict:
I hand you over to Jimmy Brewer, Lewis Clement and Tom Cottle aka Feverdogg - remember the name and where you heard them first !
Make Sure You Listen to both tracks !
