Driving an Automatic in the Snow
Generally The Flying Goldeneye runs on well-established rails but Wednesday saw the Trans Lincolnshire Goldeneye Express running on very much different rails !
Days tend to continue as they start in my experience which is OK for me as I am generally in control of what I do and when and anything that I find inconvenient or tiresome is generally just ignored.
This day however saw your host not only battling snow and ice in an automatic car, not much fun I can tell you, but also doing the
wait for it …
School Run
Never let it be said that I walk by on the other side, my bona fides as a Preux Chevalier are by now, I hope, well established so it’s in that spirit I found myself playing mom and doing the school run !
Now I find that even the most complicated equations run well providing I am the only factor in said equation - introduce anything or anybody else into the mix and things inevitably go Nicola Mclean up !
Snow, ice and not one but two schools would test me to the limits but I’m on record as saying this parenting game is much easier than people make out
so best foot forward
Indeed Rod Damon assures me that anything that can be left to women is always a breeze !
The weather gummed up the works somewhat and threw my militarily precise plans out a little but all was well in the end - two precious parcels fed watered and delivered on time - what’s more I got the right cub at the right school as well !
This left me back safely ensconced at La Casa Goldeneye were I basked in both glory and tropical gas fired heat.
Being only 9am I was left time to pontificate and realized just how easy this mothering caper is.
That’s it now till 3.30pm - all I have to do is push the vacuum cleaner around the middle of the room, judiciously avoiding the corners so as not to waste time, and then watch Jeremy Kyle and Richard and Judy !
What a life !
I may even get a couple of kids myself, judging by Madonna and Angelina the process need not be tedious nor lengthy so no 9 month wait etc.
Now that I am an experienced parent I feel I am now qualified to talk with even greater authority on child rearing and parenting in general - so beware
Regards
Rod - Superwoman !

Just wait until they ask how babies get inside mom’s tummy. Then there is the teen angst. Talk to us then.

Annie,

I’m not sure how all that stuff works myself
Teen angst is easily dealt with - I’d just tell them, welcome to the real world and by the way it doesn’t get any better - as you age the problems don’t go away they’re just different
Cheers
