Who, where, what or why is or was Sydnaceaster ?
Well, this was started, as many a quest has before, by an old map - a Saxon Map to be precise.
Dug up by historical bloodhound Neville it arrived wrapped in a plain brown envelope in my email box.
Hmmmmm I thought . . .

How to find Roman artifacts or Roman finds in Lincolnshire
Now, settle back, close those other windows down and don’t you dare backclick to Facebook or Youtube because I’m going to tell you a tale.
I fully expect it to rock the world of archaeology to its very core - the last time something like this happened it was in Egypt and it involved some fella name Tut something or other.
Gather round folks I’ve got a story to tell

What did the original Knights Templar actually look like and what did they wear ?
I suspect most people have a clear idea, bright white mantles emblazoned with large red crosses, shiny armour and elaborately decorated swords and bright silver suits of armour.
It’s a well known clichéd image but far from the historic truth

Was there a Knights Templar Preceptory located in Grimsby and was it one the site of a House of Hospitallers of St John of Jerusalem ?
This is, obviously, of great interest and I should like to take credit for the research but it comes from Neville Sisson and was originally a comment but I deemed it too important and interesting so here it is.

Temple Bruer is one of the few Knight Templar preceptories still standing in Great Britain and is one of the most exciting historic places in Lincolnshire.
I’ve made a return journey not only for my own pleasure and to soak up the atmosphere of the place but also to bring you an extensive range of pictures of the inside

East Halton - Second World War heavy anti aircraft battery - that was the mission of the day.
Following a tip off from indispensable Chris Keyworth I set forth once again in search of a piece of Lincolnshire history of which I had, yet again, never heard of and thanks to the information and map coordinates from CeeKay the mission was a success.

My current interests and researches are, amongst other things, much biased toward historical places and items of interest along with a bit of historical research and detective work and The Knights Templar. Therefore, potentially putting the two together is especially satisfying.
