Casino Royale DVD Directors Cut James Bond 007

With the imminent release of the latest James Bond DVD, Casino Royale, on the horizon I am wondering whether there is to be a special edition director’s cut ?

Given that the film, and Daniel Craig, has the hardest edge yet of all the James Bond films but still has to make a 12 certificate it screams out for a directors cut - well to me at least !

Despite my best efforts I cannot find out even a rumour if there is to be one. Traditionally they do not do directors cuts for the 007 DVDs but given this one is initially being released as a 2 disc special edition DVD that further strengthens my suspicions that another ‘cash in’ version has to be on the back-burner.

I am aware that there is to be a Blue Ray version but any others ? - What about a High Definition version ?

If anyone has any information, or indeed opinions, please do post them below
Cheers
Rod

Stumbled across this site running a similar search. Anyway, I found an answer.

Director Martin Campbell on the lack of a commentary track in this edition:

“Yes, we are doing a commentary. I think (the studio) tends to milk these things (with Bond films). When I did GoldenEye, I did it with the producer (Michael G. Wilson). We’ll probably do it with (the producers). There may be some deleted scenes.”

    Casino Royale - DVD
Interesting one this, even to a non Bond fan such as myself, anyway it looks to me as though there is already a price war on with the DVD,
which is rarely if ever seen with a blockbuster movie on the day it is released, especially as the dvd will probably be in the top ten list for many months to come. It also makes me think does someone out there know something.
One thing that does spring to mind is if this dvd has already dropped in price, someone along the line will not get the profits they were expecting, as such will this force them to do another edition of the film, possibly for an older audience, i.e. above 12, they may push it to a 15.
I am sure later in the year we will see another edition of the film, plus the usual special packaging editions, tin box edition etc, etc, etc ….. .
All of which will be marketed with the collector of Bond memorabilia in mind.
And then there is Christmas ! … well its not that far away ….
