    Rod,

At last, how long have we waited for this, a Witchly paradise of a post…..

Mineral foundation ladies… there’s lots out there so which one to choose? We personally think they give a more flawless finish than liquid or creams and are easily applied. So we rushed out one day and spent what would amount to several boxed detective DVDs ( :) ) before reading that although the powdered minerals are natural, some brands are using dismuth oxychloride which doesn’t suit everyone. We researched mineral foundation sites and found there were lots of them and many will advertise that they do not use that ingredient …. the prices varied hugely so we plumped for a UK company and halved our bill. So far so good the new stuff is just as effective and has a natural sun screen of about 15. The mineral bronzer in the range is also highly recommended for those who want instant results without chemicals or weeks in the skin damaging sun. Great for teenage skin if you read the blurb.

Looking at the Coven cosmetic kit bag you could be forgiven for thinking there must be at least one of everything in there, but it’s mostly old stuff so we can’t comment on all the above products. We were however, pleased to see Chanel perfume still leading the way although we prefer No. 19.

Hair…. the Ojon range is expensive but worth a try or MOP for those who prefer all things organic.

Male readers might like to try Elemis skin care….. and before you squeal, the cost is no different to a few pints and a handful of DVDs or possibly a slightly rare book :)

For the sensitive sort, try researching shea butter on line and it will throw up all kinds of sites selling raw materials to make your own skin care and bathing products. It’s important to read instructions and to know exactly what you are putting on your skin.

    Rod,

Presumably the other comments were too racy to print :)

It was brave of you to cover such a topic and we applaud your efforts with regard to diverse subjects. It’s also good to hear that you are wearing sun cream…. do you know, there’s been a man on the Coven roof all day without a trace of sun protection…. you can take a horse to water etc etc….

there was a time when I got a proper manicure and very pleasant it was too.
Nowadays I have to be content with keeping them perfectly in shape with a file then polishing and buffing them.

For nail buffing I recommend Ms Manicure buffers - by far the best I’ve had.
A recent replacement from another supplier proved a poor imitation

    Rod,

You, dear boy, will be mingling with the customers, casually suggesting treatments… so no need to worry about pensions with your selling skills, but you must promise not to be quite as truthful as you normally are… we want the customers to come back :) While the women (or indeed men) have their nails polished, you’ll be able to sell a few books perhaps. We just need to find the right venue and an obliging bank manager…. presumably LB will supply the complimentary nibbles? This business has class (or something that rhymes with it :) ) written all over….

but you must promise not to be quite as truthful as you normally are
Ain’t that the truth - my policy of always telling the truth would backfire even more than normal in situations of beauty treatments etc :)

you’ll be able to sell a few books
That’s more than I can do at the moment !

I think me being front of house would be a bad idea.
On telling somebody the other day that it has been suggested I could be a male model the lady offered this witty and stinging reply
    “a model for what - shoes ?”

    Rod,

A model for shoes eh…. well it could be worse, foot and hand models must have an agency all to themselves and you should be on their books with cuticles like yours :) … might be more lucrative than selling books?

    WoE

p.s. you could also model for dentistry and Spec Savers….. so it’s just the bit in the middle that’s in question :)
