Bargain Clothes Are Out of Fashion ~ Topshop Primark and Matalan etc Are So Last Year

The recent kudos given to cheap high street clothing by the fashion world and the fashion conscious has come to an end !

Only a couple of years ago anybody with a sense of fashion would not want to admit to buying budget clothes - expensive designer brands were everything to young people and older people who cared about such things - then along came Topshop chic.

Models and celebrities were seen out in £10 tops and were proud to announce where they bought it from.
Sir Philip Green, owner of Topshop, pulled of the fantastic coup of getting Kate Moss not only to model their clothes but to help with a range of her own branded fashion wear.
All boats benefit from a rising tide and other budget clothing outlets in the UK also became fashionable, especially Primark were £10 tops were only £2 !

Teenagers who would once have been embarrassed to be seen in Primark never mind their clothes now revelled in them, especially the buyer power the prices gave them.

Well apparently it’s had it’s day, cheap fashion is now so last year !

Ethical fair trade is now the in thing
Nobody wants to be associated with the sweatshops, and the ethical dilemmas they bring, that are required to make clothing at such ridiculously low prices.

So I’m sorry to let you all know the day of being chic and bargain basement cheap clothing is over.
It need not be designer but should be ethical and hopefully fair trade.

In fairness it always was ridiculous that you could buy a t-shirt for £1 or a pair of jeans for £4.

Here at Goldeneye we’ve always advocated quality.
For those of us on a budget that means less in terms of quantity - but in these, and so often other matters, less is more.
Regards and fashion tips
