Banksy Self Portrait Sell for £198,000
Urban graffiti artist Banksy saw the auction records for his work shattered on 25th April 2007 at Bonhams in London.
£198,000 was paid for a self-portrait, some 5 times estimate and now on it’s way to an American collector.

This was surpassed by Space Girl and Bird was sold for a staggering £288,000. Originally this painting was a commission piece by Damon Albarn of Blur for the album cover Think Tank

All of this shows just how startling the the pace of change has been in the collectable market. All things contemporary seem to be soaring in value and desirability whilst older more traditional art and antiques are collapsing in value.
Whilst there have always been shifts in markets the last 3-5 years has seen seismic shift with once desirable items now all but unwanted.
Antique shops and arcades, along with bookshops, are closing, no longer able to give the proprietors even a basic living.
Where will it all end ?
Does anyone even care ?
Is work by Banksy really worth that sort of money ?

How about the significant difference in women and men? (And no, not the bosoms and bottoms topic again!!)
Meaning mainly the fact that: Men act first and think later, whereas women think first and act later. Thus causing untold strife in everyday situations.

On the assumption that men think at all, the Witches suspect that the mortal male is hard-wired to be difficult. It is therefore essential to choose a man with DIY skills, preferably one who can operate a digger and other such useful things. Forget the ability to open jars, there’s now a perfectly good gadget on the market that performs this task remarkably well !
Being deep thinkers and in touch with their feminine side, these revelations obviously don’t apply to the men on this site …. the land lubbers or the one currently planning his voyage to the Bermuda Triangle via a sewage outlet pipe that he believes will be the ‘wormhole’ to previously uncharted waters and ultimate glory!!!!!!!!!!
