Advice on Upgrading Your Orange Mobile Phone

Upgrading Your Orange Mobile Phone and Contract

If you’re thinking of upgrading, whatever your cell phone supplier, it pays to shop around !
I just did …

I fancied a new phone so as I was wandering around town today I slid into the Orange shop.
I always have flip phones so decided on the latest Motorola Razr2 V8.

No problem says the young man, do you want to increase your monthly tariff.

No thanks, £25 is enough and I’ll not use all of the minutes and texts anyway

Then the phone will be £129.99 I’m afraid

I never pay for phones !

This is the latest and top of the range I’m afraid sir

You’ll have to do better than that, I’ve been with you at least 12 years

Sorry that’s the best we can do

I left the shop feeling very disappointed that customer loyalty appeared worthless.
This feeling was magnified when Vodaphone said if I moved to them I could have a Motorola Razr2 V8 for nothing !

I dialled 150 and phoned Orange, told them what I thought.

    I’m very sorry Mr Collins

Not as sorry as I am

I can have a black fully loaded Motorola Razr2 V8 with you tomorrow Mr Collins
I can also upgrade your free minutes and texts, give you an Orange magic number so you can someone as often as you like without using your minutes all whilst keeping your tariff at the same rate as before - would that be OK ?

yes it would - thank you - why didn’t they do that in the first place !

So there we go, it’s worth making a call for any of these contract things and threatening to leave. I’ll blog a review of the phone and let you know whether I can operate it or not :)
Regards
Rod
